Performance in larger maps is very bad. No HMD oriented free movement which also highlights the bad performance and teleportation uses the stick to dictate rotation before transition but it isn't based on your head's current point of view. Doors are slow and finicky, stairs of more than 45° act like slippery slopes, the service key retriever broke for me, the shotgun ammo dispenser only gives you one shell with a 10 second cooldown, the "holographic" sight is hindrance and the pistol sights and physics based magazines are almost unusable. Also, what is that flight control scheme? Just use a standard space flight controller setup where left stick is pitch and yaw, right stick is accelerate+forward/decelerate+back/strafe left/right, grip buttons are analog roll and A+B or X+Y are elevate/descend. That leaves you with two thumb buttons and two triggers for ship tools or weapons without having to force pilots into some weird perfectly ground level gyro stabilization. Much less of a tech demo and more like using assets from a game with a large community to signal boost your own project, which is fine but it clearly needs a lot of polishing. Given the last update was in 2019, the polish will likely never materialize.
It's very fun to play, however it's not very immersive for me because I keep having frame interpolation and all that jazz. If there's something of graphics settings I'd like to use it to get a more comfortable fps. But anyways, if you can run it... It's amazing (running 5700XT btw, 3700X 32GB)

Never felt that much motion sickness in 180 hrs in SteamVR. Rotating in teleport mode is really broken and in free move mode movement vector and rotation center depends on room center (Steam VR) and not your position. SE stuff is cool to see but some pointless mechanics that (mostly) have no relations to the original game just... why? Shotgun? I don't remember any mentions of shotguns in Space Engineers except mods of cource. What's the "touch" text on droids? Why there even are droids? I regret playing this as i didn't felt the "Space Engineers". Only thing i liked is to see some space engineers component items. And the moon from the window.
Клевая ознакомительная демка по любимой игре. Стрельба в этой демке классная, особенно как сделано оружие.
when i tried this back in the day it was so cool i would love if they do this for space engineers 2 i would love vr for that game
OMG. This is amazing. 1.5.2 ran flawlessly for me and was brilliant. Great stuff Sektan, I've loved your mods before and now this. I can't wait to see more. What is the roadmap here? How far are you going? Anyone who has VR and already plays SE, you simply can't miss this.
Yes.
Bruh put VR In the real game COME ON!
Super Demo... jeder der SE zockt wird das hier lieben... auf alle fälle ein einblick in die VR Welt wie es aus sehen könnte... wäre schon cool einfach mal durch sein Raumschiff zu laufen
this was really fun 20/10
