"Screaming Noppy" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This garbage joke game, just like it says on the box, requires you to scream at your microphone. This is a stupid idea, implemented badly, and published on Steam through Steam Direct as a joke, in the desperate hope it will "go viral" because it's so crap. It did not "go viral", it's just crap. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $1 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off. [b]Note: Joke reviews[/b] Because this is more of a "joke" game, intended to draw attention from controversy or in the hopes of going viral because it's "so bad it's good" (but it isn't good at all), there's nothing here to offer to serious gamers. As usual, with most awful/joke games, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are as insincere as the game itself is, the positive review score for this game should not be considered an accurate representation of the quality of the game.

Игра 'Screaming Noppy' - это ураганный хаос, обернутый в пиксельный ретро-стиль. Сначала она кажется простой аркадой, где нужно избегать препятствий и собирать бонусы, но потом начинаешь понимать, что главное здесь - кричать. Да, именно так! Чем громче кричишь в микрофон, тем выше взлетает главный герой, Ноппи. И это безумно весело! Особенно когда соседи начинают стучать в стену, интересуясь, все ли у вас в порядке. Геймплей затягивает своей непредсказуемостью и абсурдностью. Уровни становятся все сложнее и изощреннее, заставляя искать оптимальную громкость крика, чтобы маневрировать между опасностями. Графика нарочито простая, но яркая и запоминающаяся. Музыкальное сопровождение отлично дополняет безумие происходящего на экране. Да, 'Screaming Noppy' - игра не для всех. Она определенно понравится тем, кто любит нестандартные, веселые и немного сумасшедшие развлечения. Если вы не боитесь привлечь к себе внимание соседей своими криками, то смело попробуйте! Эта игра подарит вам массу положительных эмоций и, возможно, сорванный голос.

🍑Как по мне, это в крайней степени странный проект, который как бы потерялся во времени Badland в стародавних годах и концептуальнее и атмосфернее, и сложнее был, а это, пфффф... не знаю, зачем это существует. 🍑Плюсом сама фича игры управление звуком, что я только не перепробовал, но конкретно игра не воспринимала мой микрофон, я уже все перетыкал - ничего не помогло. 🍑2 упоротых лепрекона из 10🍀🧝
