on everything i would rather eat my own foreskin than ever play this game again
⠀⠀⢰⣤⡀⠀ ⠀⠀⠈⣿⣿⣦ ⠀⠀⣀⡘⣿⣿⣷⡰⣶⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⣠⣤⣶ ⠀⢻⣿⣿⣌⢿⣿⣷⣭⣤⣤⣤⣤⣄⣀⠀⠀⠀⣠⣶⣿⣿⡿⠃ ⠀⢸⣿⣿⣿⢎⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣷⣶⣿⣿⣿⠟⠉ ⠀⣸⠛⠉⢀⣿⣿⠋⣭⢿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠻⣿⣿⡿⠋ ⣿⣿⣶⡆⠻⠿⣿⣦⣤⣾⡿⣿⣧⠛⢀⣿⣿⡇ ⠻⣿⣿⣿⠀⢀⣿⣿⣿⠟⠛⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡇⣠⣤⣤⣤ ⠀⠈⠻⣿⣦⡻⣿⣿⣿⡇⠀⣰⣿⣿⣿⡏⠀⢀⣿⣿⣿⠟ ⠀⠀⠀⣿⣿⣿⣮⣛⠿⠷⣾⣿⣿⡿⠿⣣⣴⡿⠟⠋⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣷⣶⣶⣶⣶⣿⣿⡟ ⠀⠀⢼⡿⠙⠿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠏ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠉⠙⠛⠛⠛⠋⠉⠺⠷

its pretty bad, no sex
"SCP: The Foundation" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is another creatively bankrupt effort where they couldn't come up with a unique thought so they ripped off the public domain SCP theme, which at least we should be a little thankful for because it's done a lot to distract creatively bankrupt amateur developers from abusing the corpse of HP Lovecraft. The quality of these creatively bankrupt public domain ripoffs, however, remains the same, incredibly low. Here we have a lame first person action puzzle game where, wow, guess what amazing concept they came up with, yep, you're in an SCP complex and the critters got out. Wow, this idea has never been thought of before. Useful to know this backstory, though, because the gameplay quality is even lower than the creativity of the developer here, with janky controls, badly flipped assets, and zero polish. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "SCP: The Foundation". The developers abandoned this 5 years ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Dookie booty
This is definitely one of those "Mixed" review games. I'll say before hand I dont want to beat on this game too hard as it is free and its not even in a 1.0 state. At its core, this is just another SCP: CB copy. The hallways all look exactly the same so navigating is a pain. I tried opening doors and leaving items down hallways to mark them as dead ends, but everytime you die and reload the save, the world state resets and all the doors close and items left on the floor vanish. The SCPs are pretty easy to deal with. The MTF units are PAINFUL at times. While they can be easy to walk past as they have no hearing and cant see you unless youre right in front of them, this doesnt help when they spot you 5 rooms down a hall and within 0.1 seconds they will hit scan you. Not to mention the fact that there is SO many MTF units just aimlessly wondering around opening all the doors, making it even harder to tell if youve been down that hall or not. Plus they blend in with the black walls and hide around corners so you dont even know if youre walking past one half the time. I think about 80% of my deaths in this game are from the MTF soldiers. There are also 2 friendly NPCs that follow you through out the facility, unfortunately they mainly just work as a life system and dont really play any other role. There is fun to be had here but theres also a lot of frustration. It is free so worth a try.
This game is pretty bad. The pause menu quotes are just so juvenile and so are the achievements like dude if you want people to be immersed in your game or whatever don't put like "Heh my game is like Dark Souls Welcome To Dark Souls you died" tier quotes and achievements. And the jokes are like Marvel tier its free so whatever but i'm no game dev but i recommend removing the dumb quotes in the game. It's like i'm playing some sort of parody game.
