This game is very charming and has a lot of hidden depth to it's way of showcasing a dnd campaign. The mechanics of the check systems with Persuasion and other DnD related skills are the main stake of replayability, with humorous mishaps along the way that really gives a nice homey feel of an actual tabletop game. The lore, personality, and on the nose approach of the cliche fantasy with meta comments is definitely what seals the deal for me.
Was a unique experience for me. The intro felt a little too long, if it were to be spaced alongside gameplay it would be better. Aside from that, haven't played long enough.

SoCalAshez is an incredible person to work with and an amazing storyteller. I am honored to have a place in this community. I look forward to what the future can bring to us via this project!
It's a small snippet of a game, but even with that, seems very replayable. I can see the story they have to tell, and I'm interested in more. I hope the devs return to it with updates.

RPG Maker strikes again! "Sands of Slumber: The RPG" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. Well this is another fan-fiction RPG Maker asset flip but I think it's worth mentioning that we deviate from the norm here... most RPG Maker asset flips are fan-fictions about the "developer" and his imaginary anime girlfriend(s). This one is not (hooray, I guess). Instead it's a fan-fiction about the "developer" and his Dungeons and Dragons buddies, except in RPG Maker so it doesn't follow any Dungeons and Dragons rules (a real developer would have used the SRD, but we're in RPG Maker fan-fiction territory here). As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 11 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
