its fun
The AI NPCs shares one brain cell, and the bugs are clearly the main feature.
This game is complete garbage, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. This game has the worst hit reg I have ever seen in an online game. It's almost impressive just how bad it is. Early game vehicle combat is fun. Later on it turns into shooting each other off turrets, repairing them and repeating until one team finally wins. You could win a lot easier if you could board and have reliable hit reg but unfortunately the worse player still has a chance to win because of this. Not only this, every week when they patch the game they usually have incredibly questionable decisions being made, often ending up overturned by the community. I've never seen such a good concept be fumbled this bad.
Kauf es euch nicht, spiel ist absolut nutzlos...
a chinese hacker snuck on to my ship like big boss and took my plant and all my baubles
This game is easily one of the worst extraction shooters out there right now. The game is absolutely overrun with cheaters, and the worst part is the anti-cheat is non-existent and the report button doesn't even work. The community is constantly complaining about this, and the devs are doing nothing. On top of the hackers, the servers are a complete joke. On my first ever raid, I was trying to extract on a zipline and the game kept rubber-banding and teleporting me back to the bottom. I couldn't move or do anything. I waited 5 minutes, gave up, and alt-f4'd. The game literally told me I had 10 minutes to relog and rejoin, but when I opened it back up, my entire character was just deleted. Progress wiped instantly. Even if you don't get hit by game-breaking bugs, the gameplay is terrible. The gunplay feels awful, hit reg is broken, and the map is so empty and boring between points of interest. It's also completely unplayable if you're a solo player going against squads. To make it worse, the optimization is a joke. I'm running a high-end PC (RTX 5080, 64 GB DDR5, Ryzen 7 9800X3D) and I still get massive FPS drops. Save your money. 0/10 until they fix the servers, get a real anti-cheat, and patch the extraction bugs.
I love the game. I love the style, I love the gameplay, and me and my three friends were really looking forward to levelling up and getting our walker to the speeds and weapon layouts that were killing us in the rounds. Then we realized that the walkers only move one speed, and everything that had killed us up to that point, that we had been hoping for, was unobtainable because that's achieved by cheating. We played multiple rounds, hoping it wasn't a problem, and we weren't in one fair fight against a legal trampler. The final cinch was waiting for my friend to extract and watching a walker race across the horizon in under a minute... a trip that should have been a crawl, and it disheartened me. Even if we were to grind past the cheaters, anything we build is at risk the first cheater we run into. It's not fun. I doubt I'll play it more or return to it after that. And that's sad, because the game is REALLY good in concept and execution. Save the cheaters. I am regretfully requesting a refund, but if I don't get it I still wish TinyBuild games the best and hope they use my funds to help others enjoy the game and lower the cheating problem. I do love the game, I just can't progress, and don't see the point in grinding when it's so heavily skewed. There are skill issues, and then there are hard ceilings, and the cheaters in this game present the latter, not the former. This is why we can't have anything nice, peeps.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth Playing – Great Concept with a Bright Future What an amazing game. *SAND: Raiders of Sophie* has a fantastic concept, and it's one of the most enjoyable extraction-style games I've played. The world is fun to explore, and it's even better when you jump in with up to five friends to scout the land, gather valuable loot, fight NPCs, and encounter other players along the way. Every expedition feels different, which keeps the gameplay exciting. Like any game in active development, there are still some bugs, but the developers are constantly working on improvements and regularly releasing updates. It's clear they're passionate about making the game better with every patch. Don't let older comments about cheaters put you off. The developers have recently carried out a major ban wave and continue to improve the anti-cheat system, showing they're committed to keeping the game fair for everyone. There are a few areas I'd still like to see improved: * Hit markers could feel more responsive and provide clearer feedback during combat. * More customisation options for characters, equipment, and vehicles would add even more personality and replayability. Overall, *SAND: Raiders of Sophie* is a brilliant game with a solid foundation and huge potential. If you enjoy exploration, PvPvE gameplay, teamwork, and intense encounters, this is definitely a game worth picking up.
Love the premise. Hate the execution. With every new update the game breaks more and more. With the re-entrance of capturing, phazing through walls was added, meaning your trampler could be captured with no destroyed doors. With the addition of anti-cheat, came a bug causing you to float under steering was added, causing you to be kicked or banned by the anti-cheat. The update before that a bug causing your trampler to be permanently stuck on normal terrain was added, forcing you to extract without it and all loot on it.
small studio that made a great game and are diligently working to fix bug and improve it
