Sam & Max 103: The Mole, the Mob and the Meatball

I finished this again today. Even though these aren't for sale anymore at least these games still have pages unlike, say, Deadpool (which I completed recently) which no longer has a store page so you can't even review it to brag. This is a short episode, but definitely one of my favorites from the original season of Gametaps produced Telltale Sam and Max series (I'm not interested in the remastered - censored/changed - one they put out recently when I have the originals). The song that came out of this episode, alone, is almost completely worth it. You can hear it on youtube- it's called Just You and Me (and Ted E. Bear). But also the game is still very funny, and while simple it is fun to play. There are also no mafia in the game- I swear: "N.O.M.A.F.I.A - Oh Baby Welcome, Welcome Generous Friends Days and Weeks and Tokens to Spend We're Just Regular Businessmen Just You and Me (and Ted E. Bear) Ted E. Bear's Is Oodles of Fun Flops and Sandwiches and Poker and Guns And look no mobsters, nary-a-one With you and me (and Ted E. Bear) Not Mafia No No Mafia Mugs We're Mafia Free No Mafia Here What Mafia? Please. No Shady Leaves Upon The Family Tree J. Edgar Hoover Always Insists Organized Crime Just Doesn't Exist Q.E.D They're not in our midst Say Edgar, Me (and Ted E. Halfway through the first episode, Sam & Max now receive an assignment to find a way to infiltrate themselves within the ranks of the infamous Toy Mafia and try to establish contact with a mole who was put in there to report about their activities, and who seems to have vanished all of a sudden In order to do that, the duo pays a visit to their HQ, which also happens to be a casino. Although there really aren't many entertainment options available, it's still an interesting throwback to their classical 90's adventure release. Bosco is now acting as a French, for whatever reason, and keeps absurdly increasing the price for his gadgets. As for Sybil, she's now trying to build a career as a professional witness For some reason, I think that this is the easiest chapter of the episode, since I've managed to finish it way faster than the others. I wonder if it's because of the limited amount of content, or because the puzzles were too obvious to deal with. I must confess that despite some references here and there, I didn't laugh as much as in the other ones (except maybe for the "yo mama" jokes part) Nonetheless, there're still three other parts before the end, so let's see how things will play along around the corner

The 3rd chapter in the new(er) series. Nothing groundbreaking here, but good fun if you like point and click games.
