Sam & Max 101: Culture Shock

Very great game. It's been around for a while, but it's still as zany and fun as ever. That is... if I could play it. I've bought all the Sam And Max games on steam, and they worked fine. However, I've reinstalled them lately and when I start up the game I get a white screen and task manager tells me it's not responding perpetually. No error code or anything to google. So, if this could be corrected somehow, that would be nice.

It's nice, it's cool and it's funny but for the life of me, [b]i can't find the swiss cheese![/b] Therefore i'm stuck at the first scene. Any help?

I managed to play through all the episodes of sam and max after all these years. Thanks to all the developers, designers and everyone involved, it was a lot of fun. Special thanks to the great dubbing into german. You can install the appropriate patches for the German voice output for all episodes. Just google it, it worked great in any case. Hope to see the two investigators sometime again, would be happy in any case.

Pros: Runs on my garbage 10 year old laptop. Cons: Characters can't run. No way to light up all interaction points.

Before I begin, I'd like to say that it's probably better to purchase the remastered version that was released in 2020 (Sam & Max Season One (Sam & Max Save the World). Why's that? Because you don't have to make do with an awful screen resolution, there're achievements that you can get and all the adventures of the first episode are in the same place, which means that you won't have to individually install each one of them. I read that there could be some differences (concerning censorship or something, but I'm not really sure about it) Now that this is out of the way, I thought really refreshing being able to play some other adventures of that wacky duo, which entertained me for many hours, back when the internet was just starting to crawl. Sam, the noir detective dog and Max, his psycho-killer sidekick rabbit In this first episode, you're introduced to some new crazy characters that you get to interact with throughout the rest of the series. The rat who lives in your office wall, Bosco, the greedy and paranoid shopkeeper, Sybil, the entrepreneur who never gives up, the annoying Soda Poppers and the egocentric Brady Culture For some mysterious reason, the Soda Poppers are terrorizing the neighborhood where Sam & Max's office is, by spreading Brady Culture's videotapes, painting, graffiti and even going for identity theft (which according to Dwight Schrute, makes millions of families suffer every year). Your mission is to figure out what in the world is going on and put an end to this madness Considering the game's aesthetics, despite the lack of options to customize the screen, the graphics are solid, the sound effects and soundtrack are superb. The voice dubbing also plays a major role and definitely deserves a thumbs up. Another thing that doesn't even need to be mentioned is their classical crazy humor, which certainly made me laugh a few times during my playthrough Overall, it's a fun little adventure title that can be beaten in about a couple of hours; it's only a shame that there're no achievements nor trading cards available, because it'd certainly be really fun to collect them

Sam & Max the dynamic duo of the freelance police makes a great team. And i love this game and Pretty much every part about it. Great villain, Great story and great Point and click adventure game. It's always nice to come back to episode one and relive the joyful memories i had when i first got the game. This game is well done for it's time and deserves a look and the rest of the series does too
