This is what educational games should be - at least ones for rote learning. A barrage of questions with visually appealing but otherwise minimal fanfare. A lot of modern schools don't focus nearly enough on drills, so if your child (or you) are lagging on basic arithmetic, S.U.M. patches that hole nicely.
Fun idea on paper. However, It gets super repetitive and frankly boring, you will not be able to finish it in one sitting. Kind of reminds me of clicker games - if you have played it for 30 minutes then you have already seen everything it has to offer and it starts to feel like a waste of time. Also, as dungeons get more complex and longer (e.g. 50 monsters), the game becomes less about maths and more about reflexes and luck. I am trying to get 100% in every dungeon and I get stuck on ones with 50 levels and up to 4 variables. I make 1 or 2 mistakes and need to restart. RPG elements seem to be superficial. You gain health and "sword" (strength? damage?) as you gain levels, but enemies become stronger too, so it does not really affect much, unless you want to go back to early levels (but there is little reason to). I wonder how the other characters work, but I am not going to pay for any of them. But hey - it is free so maybe just try it out.

Quite a fun way to do your daily brain exercise. The art is cute even though you don't really have time to enjoy it ^^ Resolve equations as quickly as possible while trying to use specifc numbers to get bonuses and make use of your class skill. Simple, fun, free...

Fun little math game with cute "uncool" monsters. Most important info first, options! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3118894510 You enter dungeons, mines, forests, with each a certain amount of floors (one monster per floor), and one or more zones (each with their own amount of floors), and have to solve math problems with operators + - * or / to deal damage to the monsters. Later the operators get combined, too. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3119206856 If you play with timer, you take damage when the timer runs out before you give your answer. With or without timer, you take damage when your solution is wrong. When you're low on hitpoints, food items turn up that heal you when you beat them. Outside a dungeon, you can heal in the tavern. When you run out of hitpoints, you get chucked out of the dungeon. You earn money, with which you can unlock further areas, and xp, which makes you stronger when you level up. There's a nice in-game help that explains it all, too. You can go back and redo any previous area. There's a nice shortcut that lists all those you unlocked, and how well you did in them (up to 100% at no wrong answer). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3119206455 You can play in practice mode without stats or timer, but now that a no timer option has been added, you can just as well 'practice' in the dungeons. :) There's also mention of an ascension in the in-game help. I'm not there yet though. I've not yet looked at the other characters from the DLC, planning to get them in the next sale. Input is easiest with a mouse, but you can use just keyboard too. (Options also mention a controller, I don't have one though.) It's cute, it jogs the brain, it's a nice way to pass the time when you don't feel like games with story, or frantic action, or just want to excercise your gray cells :)
Cute game suitable for kids or adults. To attack a monster, you have to figure out the answer using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. a good way to wake your mind up regardless of your age. no blood or gore - when you attack and 'kill' a monster, it just flashes to show you successfully hit it, then moves onto your next monster. You earn coins to unlock other dungeons. each dungeon will use one of these basic math skills. as you progress new dungeons may combine these so you could be doing a dungeon that requires both addition and subtraction, or multiplication and division. This game is free, and has a retro feel that reminds me strongly of other educational games that were popular in the late 80s and early 90s. All in all, a great game for what it which is an educational brush up on basic math skills. It is not fancy and it does not feature top of the line graphics but then it does not need these things and doe snot pretend to be anything other than it is. Worth checking out, especially if you have elementary school age children or just want to kick start your own mind.
Great game that teaches you how to math once more. Has special abilities that depend on the board placement to activate. Archer is so far... The best one at activating said Bonus Abilities. Everything else is... Math galore. All I see is numbers when I close my eyes. Thank you!!! :+ :] :o
This game has a variety of maths questions that you can solve with different characters. Each chosen character visits the dungeon and kills the monsters to collect more coins and exp. There are seven characters in this game that you need to level up. The game's logic is simple, but if you wish to complete this game in the shortest time, that is the tedious part that annoys many other players. It was time-consuming to level up each character, but overall, I was quite enjoying the game, and I felt amused with it because it was like a slap in the face for those achievement hunters. To complete this game with full achievements, you must level up each character until they reach 100 and visit the dungeon 3000 times. It looks like an easy maths game, but as you progress, it takes longer time and requires more exp to reach the next level. Maybe you could ask your kids or younger siblings to help you to finish the game, and at the same time, they can practise their maths. If you are an achievement hunter looking to get all the achievements in a short time, this game is not for you. This game is either for someone who is really enjoying it or for someone willing to commit their time to finish it.
Fun little free game if you enjoy the gymnastic that is mental calculation. I use to game to warm up my reflexes for a few minutes before playing a more serious game.
