Generally works for what I wanted, though no longer supported by the developer so know that when purchasing.

RPG Sounds is by far the best solution for making complex and functional soundscapes. It allows you to use your own files, randomize and shuffle stacked tracks, pan L/R for 3D composition, and more. Through my TTRPG journey, I have come to find making a soundscape for my sessions has been my favorite part, what draws me in and connects me to the art. In fact it connects my players even moreso. Allowing improvised monologues to land with weight and substance, character development to feel meaningful and understandable. Nothing shy of the greatest tool in my DM box. For my online players, it brought them to the table, and I'll admit, sometimes to insanity while delving into the forgotten burial site of the god of chaos. So many times do my friends afar remind me of the soundscapes that connected them to a scene when they felt so alone elsewhere in the country. It is with a heavy heart that I sing a song of the highest praise for RPG Sounds, but must acknowledge its failures. The developers have abandoned it. The online servers to share with internet friends no longer work. You can stream the software for these players if all else fails or play around with Voicemeter Banana. The app still works and can be connected to a speaker easily enough, though even that appears to be getting more glitchy as time goes on. I don't want to give up on RPG Sounds, and hope its many unique features you can't find elsewhere are cannibalized by competing software. For now I am entertaining Fantasy + by Monument Studios. Even that pales in comparison to the brilliance this app offered.
It's buggy and it only works when it wants to. I have run into the same problem repeatedly where sounds just don't load. It'll just stop playing sounds or all but one sound repeatedly and I have to just restart the software and hope it fixes itself... it often doesn't. This is largely with my imported sound library. One could argue that maybe it's the size of the sound files being used, but I'd like to point out that I'm running this on what's effectively a modern day supercomputer and running a few multi-megabyte sfx and ambiances should not be an issue here, period, and I've done it before in Acid 10 so I know that it's possible. I'm left to believe that the cause here is the software itself for some reason. I do really like the idea of what they're going for here, and if this software both worked and had an export feature where you could list the amount of time for an ambiance it'd be ideal for what I want... But if the base software doesn't even work, it's useless to me. And why on earth would I want to invest the better part of $200 into sound packs on software that I can't even trust to function properly? I can't recommend this software. While it's a cool idea. The end result is a very buggy mess that could lead to extremely disappointing, game-halting results if you were planning on using it live.
Useful way to make your own soundtracks for online game sessions
Great app :)
