You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.[/quote] "Romans: Age of Caesar" is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. this is basically Clash of Clans from Temu, which is odd because Clash of Clans already looks like it's from Temu. Yeah, there's a thin veneer of an "Ancient Rome" skin stapled onto the cash shop, but don't be fooled by that. The winners in this game are determined by who gives the most money to the developer though the nasty cash shop. There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the too-bright, colourful, thin plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Ignoring that this is just a nasty predatory mobile app scam... at best, this is a garbage iPhone app. I didn't drop thousands on a high-end gaming rig just to pretend it's an iPhone, and I doubt you did either... this sort of trash has no business worsening your Steam library. Like most mobile-tier cash grabs, you're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for a lowest possible quality mobile app, this is clearly intended to strip away your consumer rights and compromise your privacy. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections and consumer rights that gamers expect to have, which is a major red flag. Mobile "developers" need to realize they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I let my cat walk over the keys during the EULA prompt, which solved the issue for me. Now onto pricing and value. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. I didn't pay money, but I still feel ripped off.
