The lack of sound is the weirdest part but overall gives like coolmathgames.com vibes fun little 21 level game. tread tech is wild
"Robo Rob" is a poorly made Sokoban ripoff that eschews the old 2D graphics for mediocre 3D graphics, and instead of fixed grid movement, it's more freeform. What do you do in the game? Move boxes around and get to the exit, don't die to lasers... but the game failed not just because of the jankiness, lack of polish and very low quality, amateur tier technical delivery, but also the lack of a save feature as the developer sought to punish gamers who fail a level. This was unneccesary, the low quality of this game is already punishment enough. The game was an objective failure on Steam Direct as a result of these factors. The graphics aren't great, low quality, low poly mobile app tier graphics. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.

Game's ok. Just ok. As a free game i can't not recommend it but expect lots of JANK and frustration. Still a nice project
