Developed and published by Faithy Games who are another latecomer to the "100 Animal" style hidden object games craze however unlike other publishes who have tried to expand upon the basic premise this series is extremely basic and fails to stand out from it's competitors. Having spent the last few hours playing through their entire free range of the hidden object games the differences between the games are relatively minor and this review can be used for all of their current releases as a generalised impression of what to expect. Though I will outright say that their later games suffer from lazy and unfair design.
Story
This game like many of the releases in this genre has no story, whilst each game usually has some little sequence of events occurring in the image
Presentation
The game art design is rather fun and interesting though rather small in size with the artwork improving over the series, the same cannot be said for the cats. The cats design like many other games are more loosely catlike and more like strange pointed eared figures or shapes in some cases, randomly slapped all over scene for no regard for context or scale. The UI is easy to understand and clearly presented with no text just symbols but I get the impression this was originally a tablet game as the hitbox around these elements is usually wider than the graphic used which can cause issues. In regards to the soundtrack the games all have a single looping soundtrack of forgettable quality and it begins to wear out its welcome by the 2-5 minutes it takes to finish the basic game.
Gameplay
The games usually take between 2-5 minutes and aren't very challenging, however the cat placement is frankly some of the most egregiously annoying I've encountered in the genre with repeated use of poorly defined figures and cheap timewasting. There is nearly always a cat hidden in the top left behind the UI (and trying to click it without zooming usually activates the hint option by accident) and the bottom right where they will be hidden by the Steam Achievement popup. They are often located around the edges of the scene too mostly off screen or barely hinted at such as a tiny pair of ears on something that is already spikey whilst facing away from the player so no eyes as a hint. Thankfully the hint system is unlimited but on a short timer and there is no achievement lock out for using it so there's no guilt using it for those last 2-3 badly defined cats, however the timer is just long enough that a small child would grow impatient and doesn't charge when the game is in the background. Overall Pros: - Free. - Silly amount of Achievements. - Music is generic and acceptable. - Quick to play. - Game is small file size. Cons: - No replay value. - Most of the cats don't look like cats.. - Cheap and lazy cat placement designed to waste time and looks randomly forced into the scene. - Slow hint recharge. - Doesn't add anything new in a bloated genre and what it does do has been done better elsewhere. Quick kitten fun.
Polecam.
Jaja, gatos robots
