About
RhythmStrike is a vertical-scrolling rhythm game inspired by modern Japanese arcade titles. Designed to push the limits of mouse and keyboard mechanics, RhythmStrike features music from renowned rhythm game artists such as t+pazolite, LeaF, and EBIMAYO.
Tap incoming notes with your keyboard while tracking the rhythm from side to side with your mouse. Beginners start with simple mouse tracking and tapping, while veterans navigate hybrid charts that shift between standard 6K and 3K+Mouse sections. As you play, visual effects trigger in sync with the track, altering the visuals in real time.

A really good rhythm game! I am not exactly a pro player when it comes to rhythm game (right now I am sitting at a rating of 3.3) but its been a game thats really kept me hooked, even if the concept of using the keyboard and mouse is new for me. The gimmick of using the keyboard and mouse is actually what's kept me hooked, it has been so fun using the combo and has kept me on my toes when playing. Although, I must confess, that I actually used a motion controller for the game, specifically the Steam Controller, it really feels like the game was meant to be played using motion controls (Which people have mentioned that the game is based on games using the ongeki controller, which I can see why it work well with that.) So for those who are struggling using the keyboard and mouse, perhaps try using a motion controller, mind you I have been playing on the lower difficulties so I don't really know how well it would work for the higher difficulties where there would be more buttons to press and with more difficult timings. That does remind me of an option I hope to see, could we get an option of having like the expert difficulty, as in the option of using all buttons and mouse, over to the easier difficulties? I feel like that would help people transition/practice over to the more higher difficulties. Overall, the game feels responsive and is pretty polished for an early access game and I have really enjoyed the music included in the selection (even if the selection is small, for now.) I do enjoy the VFX, at least personally it makes it more immersive, although I could see where it might be annoying for some people and I do believe that the percent reduction on points for disabling the VFX should probably be removed. And for a game that was meant to be played using keyboard and mouse together, motion controls have been a lifesaver fr.
skill level for context: I got at least an A in all charts on expert difficulty This is a very promising concept that is a lot of fun to learn, though the execution could use some work. My main concern is that the charting is kind of ass, in that I very often feel like the rhythm I'm tapping has literally nothing to do with the song and the song is actively distracting me or misleading me to think the rhythm is something that it's not. The campaign mode is also just kinda whatever, a lot of the goals are "get x max combo" which is like barely related to how well you're doing at all and can feel like tedious grinding instead of trying to play well. I also find it bizarre that your profile stats don't update when playing the campaign...? Last main thing is that I find it kind of odd how ONLY expert charts have you swapping between mouse and kb which is like, the main gimmick of the game??? Luckily I'm familiar enough with rhythm games that I was able to jump to expert immediately but if someone wasn't then the lower difficulties could not help them build up to expert all that well, as playing expert is the only way to get experience with it. I'm very much also hoping that we'll get crosshands at some point, without them the game feels kinda incomplete, though given how few charts there are as of writing I totally understand why they were kept on the easier side. A small sidenote as well: not having audio calibration is already pretty strange, but even stranger is having the audio delay setting as a slider that is so sensitive that at some values 1 pixel of mouse movement is 2ms of setting, like come on just make it a text input like every other game ever....
