Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 27 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You’re not just running a video rental store.
You’re running out of time.
RUN THE WORLD'S LAST VIDEO RENTAL STORE
You’ve inherited the last video rental store in town. You're broke, drowning in late returns, and streaming giant RentNet just opened across the street.
Run your store by day.
Do whatever it takes to survive by night.
The longer you stay in business, the more chaotic things become.
Order movies, snacks, toys, and rare collectibles. Stock shelves, manage customers, and expand your store from a dying shop into a thriving business.
Hire employees, automate operations, and optimize every inch of your store.
Every decision determines whether you survive another week.
Oh and did we mention we have PLENTY of store customization options?
The store alone isn’t enough.
Run underground fight clubs. Gamble on scratcher tickets. Install a claw machine. Take on shady side hustles across the city.
Some will make you rich.
Some will ruin you.
Produce and release your own original films to compete with RentNet.
Manage production, release films, and turn your store into something far bigger than a rental shop.
Explore a low-poly open city by foot or scooter. Discover secrets, track NPC schedules, and unlock increasingly dangerous and lucrative opportunities.
Run the store alone or with friends in co-op multiplayer. PLEASE NOTE: Co-op is temporarily disabled in the main build due to performance instability. Saves you create now will be co-op compatible when it returns.
To play co-op today, switch to the Legacy branch (right-click the game in your Library → Properties → Betas → "Legacy"), which runs the June build and your older saves.
Restoring co-op is our top priority. Timeline to follow here and in our Discord once 1.0 hotfixes settle.
Divide responsibilities, expand faster, and take bigger risks together.

Game was a lot of fun when it first dropped, but numerous "fixes" have left the game almost unplayable to some, completely to others. (My game will not launch since the newest "hot fix"). I would honestly refund if I could, but I bought when it first released in early access & it was so worth it then. In it's current state, it's a TOTAL rip off. Retro Rewind is not as "chaotic" but very similar & I'd recommend that instead.
will not launch past the dev logos. you will rack up 2 hours of play time just booting and waiting for the black screen to do anything before force closing and trying again. i got maybe an hours worth of game time when it ACTUALLY launched, ONCE. the rest of my play time has been accumulated from staring at a black screen waiting for it to load. they do NOT acknowledge this issue nor mention it in any hot fixes. all they do is ask you for some log files that quite frankly, DONT EVEN EXIST in the files they ask you to find them in. steam 2026 - release a game that wont launch. force you to rack up 2 hours of play time just trying to figure out why. no longer eligible for refund. devs pocket the free money. i am in the wrong line of work i tell you hwhat.

Just kinda broken. Stuff works for a while then just stops. XP stops being applied. Customers stop coming. Customers stop handing the cashier items to ring up. Repo man "leaves" but stands in the corner and does nothing. Honestly shouldn't have been released in 1.0 IMO. Too many basic things just... don't work. Glad it was free, tbh.

I love simulator games, especially shop management games, so I originally picked this up expecting a retro video rental store simulator. But it's sooooo much more than that. There are so many little silly references, secrets, and random things to discover that I kept getting distracted from actually running my store. The world has a ton of personality, and there's way more to do than I expected. I was looking for something that wasn't just "Store Simulator #500" The art style is adorable, everything feels handcrafted, and even the sound design adds so much charm to the experience. Building up the store is fun, but exploring the town and finding all the weird little details and mini games is what really sold me on the game. It's still in Early Access, but I'm honestly impressed by how much content there already is. You can tell the developers have a clear vision and are putting a lot of love into it, Highly recommend this !!
why
the game completely locked me out. could not use any shelf, could not access any contents of anything. employees stopped checking out people. this is a known issue and has yet to have anything done about it
very disappointing they shoved 1.0 out the door and removed features
i tried to give this game another try and wow what a dissapointment. Yes its less buggy than it was almost a year ago but to me its ridden with stuff that makes zero sense. The customers say random AI garbage that doesnt match up to what theyre doing and honestly i have a hard time finding the it factor in this game. Even the humor is corny asf. Do i reccomend spending your money on this? F no. Buy retro rewind instead.
I really tried to like this game. The idea was there but it is a slog to play. I love a movie pun and the visuals are a selling point. It somehow feels more and more restricted each time I try to play it. Maybe someday. Maybe never. Regardless, not right now.
