Such a cozy game and loved every moment of taking things apart and putting them back together. Thank you for such a great game!
I am an easily influenced person and found this game from Floydson on Youtube, didn't like how he was playing it (lol) so decided to cop for myself and try it! Honestly super fun, easy time sink and zone out game! Competitions are a great way to work on your memory and improve your skills! Definitely recommend it if you love repetitive gameplay and grinding! Eventually I will work my way back to 100% it!
Generally what is here is a cute Y2K device restoration game where you help characters along the way and manage a store which is pretty addictive. I did find the game getting a bit repetitive towards the end though and the story in some aspects left a bit to be desired. After some research the devs were careless in their outsourcing and had some gen-AI art on some aspects of the game/marketing. And after that trust-loss its hard to feel fully happy about the art direction. The devs have said its all in-house and non gen-AI art so its up to the end user at the end of the day. Bit sad it was tainted though in this way.
I've been eyeing this game for a while as I am keenly interested in the intricacies of technological repair and refurbishment, and thought that this would be a nice way to experience some of what I had not been able to accomplish in real life. While the mechanics of repairing things is seemingly very nice, it takes a long time to get at the point where you truly feel in-tune with it. Artificially barring progression through an exceedingly long list of "licenses" that you need to purchase to even handle an object that you don't unlock initially made the game feel very slow. I suppose that's the point, but after the 50th Atari 2600 it starts to get embarrassingly boring. There is also undisclosed generative AI usage in this game, at least from what I've heard. It also wants to track your IP and essentially monitor your gameplay. If console repair is remotely interesting to you, I'd just say to just go into the deep end and do it in real life.
This is a good game for those who like to tinker and take apart things. Scratches the right itch. I was able to finish the campaign in around 10 hours. I just felt like there was something missing. Like there should've been something....more. Not all devices get used.
The competition only happens once.
The lack of a meaningful New Game +. It limits my ability the replay-ability of the game for me, and I want to have a reason to come back to the game beyond
a standard endless mode.
I will admit that I'm not a completionist, so if you are, you might find value beyond the end of the game. For my fellow Linux peeps, game runs fine on standard proton with no weirdness with UI, screen scaling, graphics, navigation, etc etc. Game plays well, but it's a very simple game and not one that will burn a hole in your CPU/GPU.
