I like the fact that the game has a lot of game modes, but I don't like the fact the most of then are too chaotic to you even try to think. lol The sound/music approach here is really good and make the chaos ingame even more fun to play. I would love that we could increase the size of the arenas, to give players more space to make plays. But still a nice game that you can put some time with friends.
Enorme !! L'univers du jeu est juste magnifique, c'est super cool à jouer à plusieurs !
REPULSE: Galactic Rivals is a fast, chaotic multiplayer-focused arcade game that embraces simplicity, physics-driven mayhem, and couch-competitive energy above all else. Developed and published by IronEqual, the game is built around a single core idea—attraction and repulsion—and explores it through a variety of compact arenas and frantic game modes. Designed primarily for local multiplayer, REPULSE feels less like a traditional competitive shooter and more like a party game distilled down to pure motion, timing, and split-second decision-making. At the center of the experience is the repel mechanic, which replaces conventional weapons with the ability to push and pull cubes scattered around each arena. Players move and aim independently using twin-stick controls, manipulating these cubes to knock rivals out of bounds, trigger chain reactions, or force opponents into bad positions. The absence of traditional combat immediately gives the game a distinctive personality; success depends less on precision aiming and more on spatial awareness, anticipation, and creative use of physics. Matches unfold at a rapid pace, with sudden reversals and unexpected victories that often feel as funny as they are competitive. The game truly shines when played locally with friends. With up to four players sharing the screen, REPULSE becomes a noisy, laughter-filled contest where skill and chaos constantly collide. Because rounds are short and rules are easy to grasp, new players can jump in quickly without feeling overwhelmed, while experienced players still find room to improve through better positioning and smarter cube control. The inclusion of AI opponents with adjustable difficulty allows solo players or smaller groups to enjoy the game, though the AI lacks the unpredictability and personality that human opponents bring to the table. Variety comes from the game’s multiple modes, each offering a different twist on the same mechanical foundation. Some modes emphasize survival, others scoring or timed objectives, and a few introduce rule changes that subtly alter how cubes behave. While the arenas themselves are relatively simple and compact, rotating through different modes helps keep sessions fresh and prevents the core mechanic from becoming stale too quickly. Still, the game never strays far from its central concept, which is both its strength and its limitation. Visually, REPULSE: Galactic Rivals adopts a clean, neon-tinged sci-fi aesthetic that prioritizes clarity over detail. Arenas are abstract and readable, ensuring players can quickly track cubes and opponents even during the most chaotic moments. The visual design pairs well with the game’s energetic synthwave soundtrack, which reinforces its retro-futuristic vibe and keeps adrenaline high throughout matches. Custom music support adds a nice personal touch, allowing players to tailor the atmosphere to their own tastes during longer sessions. Despite its strengths, the game does show its indie roots in a few areas. Depth is limited once players fully grasp the mechanics, and long-term progression systems are minimal. Balance can occasionally feel uneven, especially in certain modes where a single mistake can decide the outcome almost instantly. Performance and polish are serviceable rather than exceptional, and while these issues rarely ruin the fun, they do prevent the game from feeling as refined as more prominent party titles in the genre. Ultimately, REPULSE: Galactic Rivals succeeds as a focused, high-energy multiplayer experience that knows exactly what it wants to be. It doesn’t aim to offer narrative depth, expansive content, or long-term competitive systems; instead, it delivers quick, repeatable bursts of physics-driven fun best enjoyed with friends on the same screen. For players who enjoy couch multiplayer, unconventional mechanics, and games that generate memorable moments through chaos rather than complexity, REPULSE remains a charming and distinctive arcade title that leaves a strong impression despite its modest scope.
