Bloat King: Worst soulslike boss design of all time. Putting a terribly designed boss like this so early in the game is inexcusable. It completely kills the pacing and momentum right out of the gate. Save yourself the frustration—don't waste your time with this game.
Criminally underrated game. I think of it as a Souls-Like and Gears of War had a baby, oddly enough. Granted, there were some decisions made in terms of direction/balancing that I don't care for compared to the Remnant 1. The Rouge-like mode in Remnant 1 was way more interesting and addicting even if less rewarding, and the lack of infinitely-grindable trait points does take a small edge off of the infinite re-playability aspect of this game. Good lore, great art direction, fun and challenging gameplay, decent-ish performance. One of the few souls=likes clearly designed around Co-op gameplay as well. It's a game that on its surface seems a bit lackluster and short but that's because what the game doesn't communicate to you super well is that it's meant to be played through many times. I probably beat the game 12+ times through various modes, difficulties, and challenge runs (like Hardcore) to get all of the cool weapons, armor, rings, traits, etc. that I liked. Fair warning, this game loves bizarre and obscure secrets and Easter eggs for cool content/unlockables. My recommendation is to playthrough the game once COMPLETELY BLIND with no walkthroughs on a manageable difficulty, then crank up that difficulty as high as you can and open the wiki then be BLOWN AWAY by the sheer amount of stuff you didn't see, didn't understand, dots you didn't connect, and stuff you didn't even see in your playthrough. I wish this game kept going and gave us the rouge-like mode from Remnant 1, heck, I'd even buy DLC if it let me revisit some of those worlds...
