The Black Plague, of 1348 A.D. was not what it appeared to be. Mankind unleashed a darkness upon the land and therefore themselves. Those in power far from the front-line, refuse to acknowledge the darkness of this plague as nothing more than a disease that could be contained and resolved, to maintain order and control of their kingdom,...

Just got this game today. Great game and yes it's addictive. Very well designed and I really like how you can blend skills together. Works really well. Can't wait to see how it progresses in time.
Reign of Darkness, a game that seeks to emulate the allure of the Diablo series, unfortunately falls short of carving out its own identity. In its attempt to replicate the successes of Diablo, it relies heavily on borrowing ideas and names from the renowned franchise, ultimately leading to a lack of originality. The game's aggressive push towards its cash shop and evident pay-to-win mechanics further hinder the overall enjoyment, making it a challenge to recommend for players seeking a genuine and fulfilling RPG experience. A Familiar Yet Uninspired World: 2.3/5 Reign of Darkness leans heavily on the conventions of the Diablo series, recycling concepts and terminology that are instantly recognizable to fans of the genre. However, this imitation comes at the cost of innovation and originality. The game fails to establish a unique atmosphere and narrative, leaving players with a sense of déjà vu rather than the intrigue that comes with discovering a new world. Pay-to-Win Pressures and Cash Shop Emphasis: One of the most disheartening aspects of Reign of Darkness is its reliance on pay-to-win mechanics. The evident push towards the cash shop creates an uneven playing field, favoring those who are willing to invest real money over those who seek to progress through skill and dedication. This unbalanced approach undermines the sense of achievement and enjoyment that should come from mastering the game's challenges. Lacking Imagination and Identity: 2.0/5 While it's not uncommon for games to draw inspiration from successful franchises, Reign of Darkness takes this emulation to an extreme. The lack of originality in both its gameplay mechanics and its overall design leaves players feeling like they're experiencing a watered-down version of a game they've played before. This lack of imagination makes it difficult for the game to stand on its own merits. Absence of Engaging Storytelling: A crucial aspect that differentiates exceptional RPGs from the mediocre ones is the depth of storytelling. Unfortunately, Reign of Darkness fails to deliver a captivating narrative that compels players to invest themselves in the world and its characters. The absence of engaging storytelling further hinders the game's ability to leave a lasting impact on players. Conclusion: 2.1/5 Reign of Darkness attempts to capture the magic of the Diablo series but falls flat due to its lack of originality, reliance on pay-to-win mechanics, and absence of engaging storytelling. While it's understandable for a game to draw inspiration from successful franchises, it's essential for it to offer a fresh perspective and unique experiences that stand on their own merits. Unfortunately, Reign of Darkness misses the mark, leaving players feeling unsatisfied and longing for the depth, innovation, and immersion that other RPGs can provide.

Janky, Early Access, and Incomplete, but something tells me in some amount of time if the Dev doesn't die this will be a very solid indie MMO. The Dev has been on a 10 year long journey by himself to make this happen, I imagine he'll put in another 10.
Dead, like so many EA titles-potential, but no product
I hope there is a patch sometime to fix the movement controls, I got this and found it unplayable due to not being able to move correctly.
A great game for early access. Played for 250+ hours and I must say that game have many great aspects, where I must highlight unique character talent build and fun team combat. ATM it is bit more quite in game as we are waiting for new content to arrive with new patch. Never the less you can have great fun theory crafting and building your character. Highly recommend to anyone who can spare few bucks for a fun game that is nothing but a passion project. I usually do not write reviews, the only reason I write this one is due to some sill "pay to win" reviews. Pay to win what? Game is not finished!! All items in cash shop are available for in-game currency other than warewolf and Vamp, that are bit OP but are used for solo progress where you would otherwise need party. Cash shop is what is paying for development of this game and is the only reason why it is there.
Great game so far with lots of potential. May not have much at the moment but there's plenty to work with in terms of class and skill development. Only downside is the Dev support store doesn't seem to work properly, would love to support this game further. Keep a close eye on this one.
game a joke don't buy it save your money
Edit 6-23-2023: No updates or new news lately. The last news on discord was in 07/07/2022 3:15 PM Game is still playable so idk what's going on. The gamestore is also available still to buy ingame content like mounts. But the store is claiming the game servers are down and not to buy the game. I also hear no one has heard from Tai. Some kind of personal life issue has stopped development of this game afaik. Edit 8-29-2022: It's been one year and it doesn't seem like anything has changed. The graphics are impressive for the fact one man did all of this but the combat feels boring. I don't find anyone around playing either. There's hasn't been any new updates posted on here and the main website is down. It might be silly of me to assume but I think this game has been abandoned. In any case it seems pretty dead like the death described by that one guy in the movie "The Count of Monte Cristo". It's a shame because this had potential if this dev could have got more people to help build it. I'd play it more if the combat playstyle was more diversified. Then I'd be more okay with the massive grinding in it. Edit 8-29-2021: I decided not to refund. This game is so early I can't really say whether I will like it or not. That will probably depend on a future that includes pets/minions/summons. So far though I explored a little bit and fought a few things. Nothing has really hooked me in yet. I really think early access is not the way to go anymore though. Since I'm just going to sit on my laurels hoping this turns into a good MMO. Let's see in one year. I am keeping the original post to record the events of the comments. (original Post) Do not buy. It's abandoned. Will not connect to server. Edit: 7-24-2021 It's not abandoned, but it is down. There's is no information about the situation on steam. Information on it can be found on the games Discord. There would be a link but the guy who provided me the information didn't give me a link because he was probably emotionally compromised. Also,I am lazy....Or an idiot. I haven't thought about it much. Oh well... Edit: 7-31-2021 I am still undecided on refunding. I want to like this. The game is relaxing to play. There is no pet mechanic I can see. Old school feel with making your own stat point allocation as you level. (I kinda like that) Alot of different types of damage like the usual words in a genre like this (ex. Necrotic,Divinity ect.) I see alot of talents in the classes are catering to those damage types. It is fun to explore around. The surrounding area makes me curious whats out there. The mobs are beatable but also have an air of danger to them. Mounts seem expensive to get for ingame currency, but the working gm online is really nice and will give you a free mount to explore with. Bag space is small and it seems you will need expansion later on.
