[i][u][b]Ravished Realms[/b][/u][/i] is an 18+ visual novel that doesn't supply what it offers. This review is [b][u]spoiler-filled![/u][/b] Grab your marshmallows because we're about to have a roast! [i][b]The plot:[/b][/i] as described by in the store page: "Play as Nina, an introverted gamer waiting for her breakout moment in college. At the start of Holiday Break, You've been invited by classmates to join their team and try a brand-new VR MMORPG: Realms of Legends. There's only one catch: your party is attractive!! Try Magic Potions, Romance Your Party Members, and Explore Multiple Endings with this Visual Novel Dating Sim." I'm not even sure where to begin with this. I guess with "brand-new VR MMORPG"; it's not brand new, the guy literally says he's been playing it for a year. "Romance Your Party Members"? Uh yeah-no. It's more like, log on to the game, hang out for 5 minutes then screw. It's not romance at all. It's not romantic at all. It's just 12-year-old lust. "Dating Sim". Yeah, see above, same thing, it's literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not dating. People tend to have a hard enough time telling the difference without this added confusion. Seriously though, that is the entire plot (I wouldn't even call it a plot honestly). The game barely takes 20 minutes to get through a route. Once you have finished it, there's an option to skip directly to the other sex scenes. I will address that in more detail shortly. [b]Gavin[/b], some guy she knows from one of her college classes, sees her playing on her handheld and asks if she's tried his favourite game: Realms of Legends. It's totally like, the [i]best [/i]VR experience [i]ever![/i] Surprise, surprise, Nina was gifted this amazing game for her birthday, along with a VR headset, but just couldn't get into it. Gavin (very easily) persuades Nina to log on that night and hang out with him and his other party member. That night, Nina logs on and finds two super [i]sexeh[/i] people just chilling. Turns out, they are Gavin and his buddy. Who would have guessed? They then proceed to take Nina to the tavern where, get this, magic potions are sold like alcohol and, through the amazing technological advances in this world, literally make you feel their abilities. Some make you hot; hot enough to sexually moan, while others make you so cold that your nipples get perky. Oh and let's not forget that weird one they encourage her to take that makes her speak nothing but the truth without a filter. Once they are done screwing with her, they take her outside to explore. Do you want to go with Gavin? His friend Josie? Or maybe both? One route will have you eating a slime monster that gets you super horny (and only you, cause you are the only one to eat it), then you will screw. On the other route, you go to a private room and screw. The last, you get taken to some apparently secluded place, and, you guessed it- [i]screw[/i]. [u]No romance what so ever.[/u] From my point of view, and maybe this is a little extreme, but this whole thing comes across as just being shameful. Almost predatory. Two people convince some shy girl to hang out with them, get her to take mind (and body) altering substances, drag her to a quiet location, and, well, I think I made it pretty obvious by now, shag her. Is it even sexy... no! No, it really is not. It's not like it would be the first time. Just don't try to sell it as something it isn't! So, yes the [b][i]sex scenes[/i][/b] are animated but that just makes it so much worse in some cases. In Gavin's solo route, he's got no legs. I kid you not. They just sort of... aren't there... His skin suddenly turns to a tanned shade. It had far more of a green undertone up to this point (I thought he was supposed to be some sort of goblin, personally). The worse thing though, his lips suddenly turn red, really red, like he just licked out Nina and she was on her flow days. They were originally the same colour as the rest of him. Although they apparently both climax, it looks like only Gavin did. Typical. [b]Josie's[/b] solo route isn't much better. You do get a full view of Nina as the other girl fingers her from behind but, oh dear god, I have never cringed more in my life and believe me, I've seen some messed up stuff in my time. Nina's vagina looks far more like an axe wound than a sexual organ. The animation just looks like Josie is sticking her finger into a gaping wound for some strange sadistic pleasure. Again, when they climax, it's not shown. Fancy a threesome? You probably won't ever again after this route. Gavin takes a standing roll as he pounds Nina, who is on her back. This alone looks pretty ridiculous as Nina is magically floating horizontally from his waist. Did I not mention they are in a forest? Ah well yes, it's not like there is a table around to make this position feasible. But guess what... It only gets stranger from here. Josie, squatting over Nina's face, starts out just rubbing her crotch over Nina's hair and forehead. At this point, I haven't got a clue why any of this is supposed to be considered even remotely sexy. And yes, Gavin is the only one who appears to blow his load. Is the writing even good? No. Is the art? I understand art for a visual novel can be quite expensive, and sometimes people have to get creative in other ways, however, for the love of god, don't just find a random picture of a bedroom and have it described as looking completely different. It's sloppy, it's lazy, and... I'm sure most people don't even care when it comes to a game like this, they just want the action. The action is terrible. [i][b]Missing features:[/b][/i] Now that you are thoroughly disappointed, let me just add to that (if you even actually care anymore that is); the text difference between Nina's thoughts and her spoken dialogue is really hard to tell apart. Her thoughts are in [i]italics[/i] but, it's hardly any different from the non-italic version. This can just cause a lot of confusion. There is a lack of any basic features, which include a save/load system. An options menu for audio, text speed, etc. This is no rollback or history in case you accidentally skip a page. No skip option for seen dialogue. Literally, the essential elements that are in almost every single visual novel out there, just don't exist here; much like Gavin's legs in his route. On the plus side, each scene is short and after each one, you get the option to replay it or move on to the next. At least half of the tags for this game on the store page are false or highly misleading. [i][b]Overall,[/b][/i] [b]Ravished Realms[/b] is a very poor attempt at a [i]dating sim[/i] or hentai. It's very short. It's not fun, nor sexy. It's marketed falsely. It's just bad. It may be cheap, but I've seen better for less. Just not worth the time. [h1]Intro[/h1] [b]Ravished Realms[/b] is an 18+ visual novel whose synopsis and art caught my attention but, to put it lightly, turned out to be the most disappointing game I played this year. [h3]Pros[/h3] - The characters’ design is nice, especially Nina’s in-game character. [h3]Cons[/h3] - There’s next to no content in the game - Poor writing - Unfitting backgrounds - Animation issues during the sex scenes [h1]Full Review[/h1] The game tells us the story of Nina, an introverted gamer who has been so busy with school assignments she didn’t have time to make friends. However, this changes when Gavin, a kid from another class, invites her to try a VR MMORPG called Realms of Legends and join his team. Concept-wise it isn’t bad, even if there are plenty of stories focusing on someone’s adventures in a VR game, but the writing is terrible. The game is so short there’s no room to develop the characters. Moreover, the plot structure is almost nonexistent because the story ends right after the exposition is over. There’s no rising action, no climax (no, I’m not talking about that kind of "climax"), and no resolution. To be honest, I find it a bit insulting the game is tagged as “story rich” because, as harsh as I may sound, I’ve seen better stories in those low-effort Flash porn games. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2450752379 The gameplay is lacking even by kinetic novel standards. It misses some basic things like a menu to adjust your settings, a skip button, save/load options, and even keyboard compatibility. On top of that, there are no dating sim elements even though the synopsis describes this game as such. In the end, all you can do is click, and click, and click, and click until you have to choose an ending. Artistically speaking, I like the character’s designs, especially Nina’s in-game character; nonetheless, the backgrounds make them stand out like a sore thumb. While using real-life stock photos lets you save some money, you have to put some work into it to blend the characters nicely. On the other hand, the sex scenes are very lackluster and have some basic errors. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the first time I see the climax part repeating itself until the scene is over. All in all, avoid this game at all costs. I played a fair share of extremely short visual novels, but never one that’s so devoid of content you can barely consider it a kinetic novel. TL;DR: A short visual novel that teases you with limitless possibilities, then proves to you just how limited it really is. There isn't enough content to warrant the price, and even what's there feels hastily put together. + Cute character designs + Competent writing. Not exceptional, but serviceable. - Inconsistent/out of place backgrounds, often don't match up with descriptions in the game - Not much in the way of actual art done for the game - Sex scenes are very crudely animated - Some logic stretches that it doesn't care about addressing - Incredibly abrupt ending with no substance or care put into the ending at all ------------------------- A short visual novel, Ravished Realms puts you in the role of "Nina," a student who meets up with a friend of hers and is persuaded to try a really advanced VR MMO in a fantasy setting. She meets up with him and someone else from her school, they talk a tiny bit, then they decide to bang. Then it's the end. I started out mostly having a positive opinion of the game. I think that the art style is pretty good. I enjoy the character designs, they're quirky and unique enough to not feel like reused models from something else, which is great since I get that vibe from a lot of other games of this type. It's got a kind of crudely-drawn aspect to it that is weirdly endearing. During one scene, characters will be at a bathhouse and refer to themselves as being naked, but there is no artwork to reflect that, so it's just kind of a "use your imagination because we don't want to make the assets" moment until you get to the lewd scenes. It's unfortunate how little art is actually in the game, considering I enjoy the art style enough to think it should have some more. I do feel like there should have been nude alternatives to the otherwise clothed characters to make it feel at least consistent with the writing. You also get some background music and that's not bad either. I can definitely tap along to the music, so it's not out of place or random by any means. The dialogue's not too bad either. It's coherent enough and even while it doesn't feel expertly written, it leads you to the next scene without you wondering how you got there, so I'd like to think that it accomplishes the basic point of dialogue at least. Things start to fall apart when you look at the backgrounds, which for some reason are all real life photography? Like, in a couple of shots you can see real people in them and it's just really kind of uncomfortable when the character design doesn't match the backgrounds, even in the fantasy VR world it's still just real life photography. There's some inconsistencies with the backgrounds as well, like how at the onsen, dialogue will mention moonlight while the image itself conveys sunlight. Really kind of feels like there wasn't a whole lot of effort in getting matching imagery for the setting. When it comes to the story, it's really bare-bones. The summary at the beginning of this review is really all there is to it. I'm willing to accept in most instances that there can exist VR full-body sets in the future where you can feel everything from light touches to sexual touching (although it certainly doesn't work in the in-game VR world, since they're in a fantasy combat game where you really probably don't want to be stabbed and killed or set on fire). What I'm not willing to accept is the drinking scene where drinks in the virtual world have an effect on you in the real world. I don't care what kind of VR setup you have, that's a bit too much of a stretch to really believe in. When you do get to the sex scenes, you get the unfortunate reality of the game, which is that it's real rough and janky. The animations are so crudely-animated and just overlayed on top of the unfitting background that I feel like it would have actually done better to just have them be still images as opposed to animations. The dialogue written during feels like it kind of loses purpose and focus throughout it, so it's not quite as sultry and attentive as I feel like it deserved to have been. When you complete the sex scene, you're given the-- no, wait, game's over. Seriously, as soon as you finish the sex scene, game just finished. No final words of "I think I'll like it here," or no "What happened afterwards" exploration, just over and done. It asks you if you want to try any of the other 2 sex scenes, which also end just as abruptly, then you're just done with the game. Three short sex scenes with nothing of substance to them, barely any lead-up, and absolutely nothing after you engage with them. I think the lack of an ending is the final nail in the coffin of this game. I can get over the writing, I think that "competent" is all it needed to be. I can also get over the backgrounds, even though that should have been a warning sign. But with how little artwork there is aside from 4 still character images and 3 super short crudely-animated sex scenes, the lack of even a proper conclusion to the game's story shows that there was little care put into it. At the end of day, there isn't any reason I can recommend this. I wanted to have a reason to, but the only potential saving grace this had was its unique art style of the characters, and it just didn't go far enough to warrant spending money on it at all. I hope that if the developer(s) do go on to make more content that they'll take reviews of this game to heart and put a lot of work crafting something that they can be proud of.

No. This the worst adults only visual novel I've played on steam so far, let me explain why. You can not save your progress so if you accidentally click exit which is easy to do you have to start over from the beginning and there is so skip or fast forward button, and speaking of buttons none of the buttons on your keyboard do anything in this game, you can only click through the slow boring dialog with your mouse, making it easy to accidentally exit out of the story and return to the start screen. Finally there is no settings in this game. Its awful in every way, dont waste your time with this one!

The one of a kind storyline and beautiful artwork make this Visual novel better then any good book. You will find your self reading until you have finished all of the multiple endings.
