Warning: Asset Flip!
Rapid Ascent is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Bell Studio, took a template from Unity, slapped a couple of asset flipped models on it, and dumped the results onto Steam as a cash grab scam. Bell Studio has shown a repeated pattern of ripping off Unity templates and dumping them on Steam. Don't believe me? Here's some other asset flips from exactly the same template, all shamelessly dumped on Steam as nasty cash grabs:

"Cosmic Distortion", copy + pasted from the same template by Bell Studio
"Warp Rush", copy + pasted from the same template by Bell Studio
"Through Space", copy + pasted from the same template by Bell Studio
"Space Turbo 2", copy + pasted from the same template by Bell Studio
"Space Turbo", copy + pasted from the same template by Bell Studio
Look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game! This unethical behaviour should be no surprise, as Bell Studio are known asset flippers who've previously taken the work of real developers, changed the name and put their own name on it, so they can sell it on Steam and try to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's work. Take a look at this:

"Book of Shadows" = Polygon Western - Low Poly 3D Art Pack developed by Synty Studios
"Deadly Threat" = POLYGON Dungeons - Low Poly 3D Art by Synty developed by Synty Studios
"Driver Night Trip" = POLYGON - Construction Pack developed by Synty Studios
"Fast Wings" = Sky Flight Full Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"Little Adventure" = AB1 - Fantasy Platformer bundle developed by Yoyogames
"Little Adventure 2" = AB1 - Fantasy Platformer bundle developed by Yoyogames
"Mighty Vikings" = Polygon Vikings Pack developed by Synty Games
"Play a game with me" = Synty Studios developed by Polygon Prototype Pack
"Traffic Racing" = Traffic Racing complete kit developed by Codeer Studio
"Fog Racing Circuit" = Pro Car Racing 2 developed by MilySource
It's worth noting this guy has over a dozen fake/shell accounts he uses to try hide his identity and further mislead gamers into buying these fake products with fake reviews. Here's some:

Bell Studio
BHPG
Daniel Li
Enoops
FadyGames
Hardi
Infinity Code
Johan Games
Joi Max
Jony Dev
Lieb
LocalJamStudio
Louie Inc
Mikki-Boi
Nikita Morti
TNT Studio
And we're sure he'll keep adding more shell accounts to continue to run these fake game scams. The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Rapid Ascent" is just a basic Unity endless runner where you fly a plagiarized spaceship asset down a tunnel, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips are an insult to both PC gamers and to professional game developers who create genuine, high quality PC games. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have. They make it harder for gamers to find genuine games made by honest developers. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. To cement the position of this asset flip as nothing but a cash grab, it was dumped onto cheap DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles very shortly after launch. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Bell Studio. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Rapid Ascent, developed and published by Bell Studio, is a tightly focused arcade experience that strips gameplay down to its most essential elements: speed, precision, and survival. It places players in control of a small, agile spacecraft racing through a narrow, ever-shifting tunnel in space, where the objective is not to complete levels or follow a narrative, but simply to last as long as possible. This minimalist approach defines the entire experience, making it immediately accessible while also setting clear expectations about its depth and long-term appeal. The core gameplay loop is built around constant forward motion and rapid decision-making. Players must navigate through a sequence of obstacles that range from tight corridors and sudden turns to moving hazards that demand split-second reactions. The controls are simple and responsive, allowing for quick adjustments, but the real challenge comes from how quickly the game escalates. Early moments may feel manageable, but the speed and complexity ramp up at a pace that leaves little room for error. A single misstep can end a run instantly, reinforcing a high-risk, high-focus style of play that rewards concentration and muscle memory above all else. Despite its simplicity, the game manages to create a strong sense of flow when everything aligns. There are moments where dodging obstacles feels almost rhythmic, as if the player is syncing with the game’s pace. However, that same design can also lead to frustration, especially when unpredictable obstacle patterns cut promising runs short. Because the experience is partially driven by procedural generation, each attempt feels different, which helps maintain replayability, but it also introduces variability that can occasionally feel unfair rather than purely skill-based. Visually, the game leans into a clean, neon-lit aesthetic that emphasizes clarity and motion. The tunnel environment is presented with glowing edges, shifting colors, and a sense of depth that reinforces the feeling of speed without overwhelming the player with unnecessary detail. This minimalist presentation works in the game’s favor, as it ensures that obstacles remain readable even at higher speeds. However, the trade-off is a lack of visual diversity; over time, the environments can begin to feel repetitive, as there are limited themes or variations to break up the experience. Sound design plays a subtle but effective role in maintaining immersion. The audio complements the visual intensity with electronic tones and rhythmic cues that heighten the sense of urgency. While not particularly memorable on its own, the soundtrack supports the gameplay well, reinforcing the fast-paced, almost hypnotic nature of extended runs. It’s the kind of audio design that fades into the background while still enhancing the overall atmosphere. One of the defining characteristics of Rapid Ascent is its lack of traditional progression systems. There are no upgrades, unlockable abilities, or narrative milestones to work toward—only the pursuit of a higher score. This design choice aligns with classic arcade sensibilities, where mastery and improvement serve as the primary motivators. For players who enjoy competing against themselves or others on leaderboards, this can be highly engaging. However, for those who prefer structured goals or evolving gameplay mechanics, the experience may feel limited after repeated sessions. The game’s biggest limitation lies in its scope. While the core mechanics are solid and well-executed, there is little beyond the central loop to sustain long-term engagement. Additional modes, environmental variations, or progression elements could have added depth without compromising its arcade identity. As it stands, the game feels more like a refined prototype or a focused challenge mode rather than a fully expanded title. In the end, Rapid Ascent delivers exactly what it promises: a fast, demanding, and straightforward arcade experience built around reflex and repetition. It excels in short bursts, offering intense sessions that test a player’s ability to adapt and react under pressure. However, its minimalist design, while effective in the moment, limits its staying power over time. Players who appreciate pure, skill-based gameplay will likely find it rewarding, while others may see it as a brief diversion rather than a lasting investment. Rating: 6/10
