OK here's my take in this. Even though I gave is a positive this is actually a 50/50 things for me. PROS: -Nostalgia from the old RO (NPCs, locations, equipment) -Added story. Yes, this time around they actually had a story you can follow so now it felt like playing a free RPG that has story. Old RO also had story but you had to discover them, here it's all easily been placed for new and old players of the game -Ease of time and effort. Ok, I know people were complaining of all this autobattler and autopathing. But for an old player like me, it felt like they gave me a cane so I won't keep pressing the mouse button to move and attack. No more arthritis induced gameplay. CONS: -Child friendly character designs. I am putting this here since the community chat being poison does not generally make this game for children. Although you can turn it off and have a kid that can play video games in an early age enjoy it without paying a dime. -Too easy for hardcore players. Sadly those who enjoy the grind in old RO will hate this with 'recommended builds', simplified traverse with mounts and stuff -monster cards... ah yes... it's still the same with farming for 2-5 days just to find a single poring card. But on the bright side you can 'afk farm', another term this new RO made for botting legally in their game. It definitely stopped botters since you don't need a bot when you can *cough* afk farm with autobattling. -paywall for headgears and outfits. No more simply crafting them but you have those gacha stuff that you either you get them or not. Monsters don't drop them anymore since they walled F2Ps with 'blueprints' which either you spend more time playing to get or do the easy way and pay.

I've played their Eternal Love game, and it's kind of like this, but it's a standard ROX game this time, so there it is. I actually kind of like this one more than I did Eternal Love. *If you go hard, you can achieve a full level 30 set of blues in a week in free-to-play. I've played games like this before, but I like games like this. This isn't bad, but it's pretty basic, as far as an idle game goes, at least when you first start out, but this game has depth, but it's a different style of game, but so far so good. I just bought level 25 gear and am working on modifying that, but so far so good, so not sure what people are complaining about. The rewards are random, so there it is. It's not a bad game. It's actually pretty cool. The graphics are nice and simple, which is what I like about it. It's a very lean game, so that's got me hooked. I've played a lot of idle games both for PC and Mobile, but on PC only, but this is the best game I've found out of all of them, because they did such a good job on it, so it's getting poor reviews, but is a great classical based MMO, that is modern, so to me, it's an underrated game. The optimization on this game is some of the best I've seen in gaming, for graphics like this, even compared to the really extreme stuff, but the way they did this game, for a game like this, is the best I've seen as far as gaming companies designing a game that can really do what it says it can do on a modern phone or PC. It's not a bad game. I've played long enough to see what this is, but it's a slower paced game, like most of these idle MMOs, but this game is a good one. These developers really did do a great fantastic job on the game overall and I'm having fun, but you have to give the game a chance, but the game really does do what it says it does, but this is not a casual game. Games that have this style of idle play, are not casual games. These games are more hardcore than EverQuest was back in its day, so let that sink in. If you play this ROX game, just buy level 25 gear with your crystals, but don't focus on anything other than that when you first start out, so learn the game like that first, then slowly dig your way out, after modifying your equipment with level 25 gear first, just to learn the game and its systems, but I want you to see that level 25 gear is actually good, because it is, and can be powerful, so you don't need really expensive gear to start your journey, so just start like that. I'm beginning to clear the first dungeon in nightmare mode now, so obtained attack speed and more haste, for my build through playing in this new mode and dungeon, but also won a few cards, that supplied me with more stats too, so a ring and a talisman from the dungeon was what I was lacking, but I found it, so now I have a few set bonuses going for my build now too, so overall, a good experience, but you have to get lucky with groups to clear it, but I have a chance at epics too, so waiting on all that, but it's fine. The game is fine. Just go for level 25 gear to start, then craft level 30 gear. It's not that big of a deal, because all the gear in the game can be advanced quite a lot, so each set is strong in its own right, but crafting level 30 gear will take time, so you're going to be using level 25 gear for a while, or until you manage to craft up, but it'll take a while, so just go with it and have fun, then if you like the game, then you can spend a little, here and there, and advance up like that too, so it's not a big deal either way, so do whatever you want, but you can win all the gear. I'll give you some tips on first boss: Range classes are best on the encounter, due to the bosses mechanics, but when the boss spits adds out, you kill those, but everything else is just straight dodging his AOE attacks, which are clearly marked, and avoiding his digging mechanic, which is random and hard to dodge, but melee attackers will die on the encounter due to the boss's digging mechanic. It's actually a really easy boss encounter, even on nightmare, if you avoid the red reflect damage, and the blue reflect damage, so when boss turns blue, don't attack with physical, but when he turns blue, don't attack with magic. I'm playing merchant and don't plan on doing anything else, so just playing one class, but they said it was a boring class and uninteresting, but I don't think so, and least affective, but I also don't think so. The merchant is actually pretty good in combat. The reason he's good is because he's a support class, so he's a buffer, but also can be a tank or DPS class, so he's a bit of a hybrid, as far as classes go, so he's pretty good on the field, and in various ways, depending on how you play it as far as tactics go. He can heal himself and play dead. I got some crit too for my build, so focusing on crit, attack speed, and haste, with a two-handed axe right now. I got some crit resists too, but that's about where I'm at--in the game at level 35. Got all level 25 gear too that I'm advancing, as I'm growing my power out, but will focus on crafting level 30 gear as soon as possible too, so there it is. I won a level 30 blue shield from the gotcha equipment machine. It took me two tries, but I won a magic attack ring, which for me was trash, so I dismantled, and bought with my crystals, without spending real money, and bought enough coins for the gotcha machine to do one more attempt and won the level 30 blue shield, but I think for the merchant, to grind the fastest, a 1-h mace, with a shield will be the fastest path to growth, and this goes for all the melee classes. I also managed to buy a 1-h mace with crystals I won in the game, without spending any cash, so totally free-to-play right now, but this is a good way to approach it. You will be wanting attack speed, crit, with str, and vita, but not a lot of agi, so maybe like 20-40, just to get a small bonus to attack speed on top of the ASPD items, which boost attack speed already, so agi is just a small perk for even more attack speed, and you go haste, so not going too deep into agi, but you can get a point bonus or two by spending 20-40 agi. It'll also help you dodge among other perks, but you can enchant for more agi too, if you get lucky on good rolls for it too, on top of your ASPD items, so it's good, even if you roll low into the agi stat. It's best to spec all your points into str and vita, and P. Pen, but if you get lucky with HP enchants, then you could take more agi, so either way balance it out to get a point or two for the agi attack speed and dodge modifiers, then enchant up. It takes about 20 agi to get one boost to ASPD, which is your attack speed, but you go str on enchants too. Later you can take away vita on a respec. See, I'm level 38 in the main level on day four, but level 50 in my job, so things are picking up, but now I'm going to start grinding faster, because I'm stronger now, but still haven't spent any money, but I will begin to spend some, but not a lot, but just some to give me some currency to play with, so mainly crystals and such, but you can be totally free-to-play quite easily in this game. I also won stuff to modify my character with, that helps with stats even through just playing the game normally, which is cosmetic stuff, but the game is fun and cool and relaxed, but is an idle game, but there is a lot to play here. There is plenty of content to keep you going for a long time. So, in three days' time, but grinding for a full three days, I managed to find cards, which can be pulled out of gear and put back into whatever gear you choose, so you also don't lose progression on your gear, as stats can be carried from one piece of equipment to another, and you don't have to do it a certain way, so you can upgrade however you want, but I managed to find everything I needed. On the equipment gotcha: I won three blue level 30s. A neck, a shield, and a talisman, which were all nice and good for my alchemist build.
This is one of the better (new) Ragnarok games in the Franchise. It's the most similar to the Original. I love the Cross Platform play. Android, MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, Linux... all the same game, same account, same character. It also plays well on limited hardware. I play this often on my Dell Latitude 14 Tablet, which has modest specs. Overall its a nice way to waste some time.
