Quasimorph is one of the best indie extraction games available right now when it comes to pure gameplay mechanics. Along with Zero Sievert and Stoneshard, it sits firmly in my personal top 3. The game is brutal and unforgiving, and that is exactly what I love about it. One wrong move can kill the character you’ve been carefully building and investing in for the last couple of days. You lose the run and everything you were carrying. While there is meaningful meta progression that softens the blow and prevents you from starting completely from scratch, the core loop remains high-risk, high-reward in the best possible way. That tension is what keeps me coming back. The loot variety is excellent. There is a wide range of weapons, armor, modifications, and materials to find, which keeps every successful extraction feeling rewarding. The turn-based combat is tight and demanding, with strong emphasis on positioning, resource management, and decision-making under pressure. Combined with the extraction structure, it creates a gameplay loop that feels deeper and more satisfying than most other games in the genre. If you enjoy hardcore, high-stakes extraction experiences and already appreciate games like Zero Sievert and Stoneshard, Quasimorph is an easy recommendation. It delivers the same unforgiving intensity while offering its own distinct mechanical identity. GG.
I truly enjoy turn-based games so seeing a few youtubers play this game when it was still in early-access looked very promising. I'm coming fresh off of XCOM and it's opened my eyes to the difference between having a squad to watch your back vs. doing CQB all on your lonesome. The good: - Combat feels meaningful and the game punishes you for losing focus or being greedy, but in a good way. I've had a few encounters where in my brain fog I just didn't look behind me or I forgot to peek a corner and instantly got blasted. This may appeal to some people or turn off others but I really enjoyed the learning curve. - The variety of builds and customization of your characters is a nice touch. You can swap out perks and upgrade stats which helps a lot with building your ideal playstyle. - Story and Lore: You have to seek it out a little bit and really explore the game yourself to get it all but there's a lot out there to parse through and digest. I think that as it is, the setting is very provoking and in conjunction with the music I got the same epic gritty feeling from works like BLAME. The bad: - AI still needs work. Sometimes I can be stuck in "defend the cargo" missions and I'll have to actively seek out enemies who I'm told will be approaching me. This might not actually be an AI issue but regardless it can get tedious. - Armor and resistances could be more clear: What I mean by this is that there are several types of resistances that determine your chance to resist certain damage types. While this isn't an uncommon design choice, it isn't explained very clearly in the beginning and it took me a few hours to realize that the little icons on the bottom of your inventory screen are the resistances that you possess. - In similar vein to armor and resistances, I also think that healing could also be more clear. The tutorial briefly goes over it but an explanation of how different healing items can heal different types of wounds would be amazing as I've had a few early encounters where I naively used a bandage on a fracture wound. TLDR: Game good, need polish, worth money, 4.25/5
Ci ho voluto credere a tutti i costi, purtroppo è un NO.
Played on early access and have seen the game blossom into a really interesting product. It's tough, but really engrossing. 10/10!
Good game. But Ui and tarding is hard to understand. I hope devs will simplify those..
Pretty good. Takes some getting used to being somewhat "turned based". Think of it like chess... a King with guns vs everything else on the board. Or solo x-com? Roguelike? Its kind of it own thing and the difficulty makes it rewarding. The characters and classes change up the playstyle and the loot is good. Definitely a game you can come back to and pick back up.
