Its not good. Its also not terrible. Got the bad ending. The puzzles are fine for the most part, until you get to the second floor. there they dont follow the rule of "everything you need is in the room" as you have to go to other rooms that have different puzzles to get a specific object that's needed for you to finish the puzzle. example: needing the crowbar to move the chalkboard. Some of the puzzles are neat, such as the piano puzzle and morse code. however, the piano doesnt properly "un interact" so after you leave left clicking will play a note (luckily the noise range is only in the room so its fine). you also cannot be killed when interacting with the piano (and i suspect other objects as well, such as combination locks and the board paper puzzles) which leads me to the randomized chases. the randomized chases are bad. imagine a stalker enemy that doesnt exist in the world until they decide to show up and chase you. the music is unfitting. they can spawn right in front of you (i think their spawn is in the same spot for each map so i was in the wrong place there, but still have some checks), and not all rooms have lockers. while the hallways usually are filled with them, if you are in a bad spot you might not be able to reach a locker and die. the basement section of the game has a lot more of these chases so its a bit of a slog. also, distractions are useless except for the required one and fixing the black screen bug. the black screen bug is my name for it and it happened to me by interacting with a locker right after exiting it (i think). the exit locker animation fades to black so i think it gets stuck. luckily a distraction fixes it for some reason. also, after exiting a locker you will be facing the locker which kinda threw me off a lot. the slender man section was quite boring. get a page, hide in a locker, repeat. at the end when you're put in a white box i could see the edges from the Ambient Occlusion, and i tried toggling it off but it didnt work. bummer. broke the white void illusion but who cares. the pills are useless mechanic. sometimes when entering an area (or randomly, i think) you get some screen effects and have to use some pills. as a limit, you can only hold 3 pills at a time, but the game gives you so many that i never found out what happens if you dont. probably die. Other notes include the jumpscares being boring (they stand there and you walk close for a scare. yay). the jumpscare triggered by opening a stall in the first floor toilets being bugged and every time you open and close the stall door the audio stinger plays (even with the scare gone). no fov options and the fov being quite small so it felt like i was wearing blinders (i play with 90-110 fov usually). the ending sequence is garbage and i had to redo it 3 times because 2 minutes is not enough time and also its the only point in the game where you are required to use q to drop and item so in the chaos of flashing lights and breakcore i missed the hint of "use q to drop items here." the essence collector tutorial being after the checkpoint so its a required watch to progress, but thats until you figure out ejecting the tape immediately counts as it being played so you can skip it (the collection hitbox in this section specifically is bad as the graphic shows e on the enemy but you have to e on the monitor the enemy is coming from) there hasnt been any updates since August 13, 2024. which is fine as it is a finished game. HOWEVER in 2025 it was found that a major CVE existed in every unity version after unity 2017, and this game was made in unity 2021. so this game never got fixed so you are vulnerable when you play it. so you might wanna stay away if you are concerned. (Hey dev, unity released a tool that patches the exe to fix the CVE so literally just use that and update the game thx) at least the chase music (as unfitting as they are) is quite good
