I have been following zomboid for awhile now. Its grown so much since its release. Project Zomboid understands that surviving the apocalypse isn’t only about killing zombies. It’s about the quiet moments in between which are my favorite moments. From running between towns to finally bunkering down somewhere "safe." Very few zombie games allow such small, unscripted moments to carry so much weight. Zomboid doesn’t just simulate survival; it makes you think and lets you inhabit the melancholy of a world that has already ended and that's why its one of my favorite games. Learning the game may be a curve but the end result of learning as you go is very rewarding. The plethora of settings to choose from mixed with the mod support you can make whoever you like and make the apocalypse whatever you want. You want all sprinters? sure. Slow shamblers? go for it. Want to just turn it into a gun fest? crank the spawn rate up. Just remember death can come quick and out of nowhere.
