Pro Jank Footy is a tonne of fun. Its super lightweight to run, even runs on my old t490 running Omarchy well. There is no reason not to grab this one. I personally don't even like AFL as I grew up watching league but its a great fun spin on the game. The rougelite mechanics makes games get ever more chaotic, espcially in the seaon mode. Its a tonne of fun with a bunch of random fun eater eggs hidden in it. Get around it cobba
might be the worst game i've played all year
So far, a fun arcade footy experience. It's nice to have a footy game that plays on Steam Deck. As a solo only player there are some definite improvements I'd love to see made to the game: 1. A way to inspect the active power-ups during a game; a lot of the time I have no idea why something is happening. I don't know what power-ups the other team has and if one gets picked up during the game it's really easy to miss and the description only appears very briefly. It's frustrating to have a negative effect happen to a player and have no clue how to avoid it in the future. 2. Ability to choose my team in solo mode. Ideally the teams would have rosters with individual players with individual stats. 3. A deeper solo mode/season experience. I'd love to have a real season where losing doesn't end the game immediately and culminates in a playoff. My favorite part of sports games is the emergent story that develops as you get to know and craft your team over multiple seasons and there's none of that here. Overall, it's a good footy game to jump into for some quick fun but at the moment is lacking in replay value for solo players.

This game is definitely fun, but if you're someone who's new to footy, I would wait with playing until they finish developing the game. Some rules of the game are not explained at all in the how to play section, and there is no tutorial game play.
I enjoy having a jank with my friends.
Online seems not too work, stuck waiting for host to start the game or for the player to join. A big reason I bought this game was to play this with mates, hopefully this gets fixed soon. Also the game needs difficulty choices, and please remove the 5min quarter powerup jesus christ. Can't recommend in current state considering $20 price tag, Too expensive with too little features for the average aussie battler.
I wish I could recommend this game but simply can't. It's footy, the art style is great, it's fun and it's Aussie! But.. the gameplay is janky (not in a good way) and even basic sport game features such as a reasonable automated selected player switching are buggy to the point of being unplayable. As a couch-play-with-friends game I can see the appeal, but won't live past a couple of games, the upgrades are completely imbalanced and some are straight annoying. I think this is a great idea that deserves some updates, I won't refund and I will change the review once the game is in a more "complete" state, this feels like a $20 demo.
Probably one of the most unique and fun footy games ever made, and quite frankly a natural, spiritual successor to that weird official AFL ones where the bench appeared in the centre square / Adam Simpson could goal umpire, or you could make Darth Sidious as a player. Leaning into the skid, and creating an arcade classic was nothing short of genius. Weirdly, I found the strategy on the field - e.g. good use of handball to create space when under pressure, accurate kicking up the lines to forwards, and running midfielder goals - is frankly impressive for a game that's clearly a bit of a pisstake. Minor tweaks, e.g. changing ends each quarter, more diverse seasons, etc, would be a huge way to make this the GOAT of footy games. Tl;Dr: To quote the commentator, I AM ROCK HARD about this game
footy but make it JANK super fun arcade game
