Prime World: Defenders 2 definitely leans into a pay‑to‑win structure, yet there’s still enough enjoyment here to keep me playing—for now. Beyond the usual limit on how many towers you can bring into missions, your inventory is also capped separately for towers, spells, and runes. The game loves dumping hyper‑specific junk on you—odd tower fragments, situational runes, and other filler—until your storage is clogged and you’re pushed to buy more slots. And because each category has its own slot system, you’re paying three times over. The variety isn’t here to enrich the game; it’s here to eat your space. Rune drops are another headache. I almost never get Slot 3 runes, yet I’m drowning in Slot 1 and Slot 4 runes I’ll never use. And remember: Tower Runes and Spell Runes aren’t interchangeable. A Slot 1 Tower Rune that boosts tower range by 10% has nothing to do with a Slot 1 Spell Rune that increases spell radius by 10%. Damage‑boosting runes may only apply to initial hits, not DoT effects like poison or burn. Everything is extremely specific, and if you don’t understand the nuances, the runes simply don’t work the way you expect. The mines are another imbalance entirely. Once you control one, it becomes absurdly strong. Pair it with the ship ability that increases mine yields and you’ll be swimming in resources—far more than you could ever reasonably spend. I strongly suspect the silver mine is tuned to match resource pack values and while the upgrade costs are high, the implementation makes it trivial to exploit. I ended up running a simple script that clicks the mine every ten seconds and the game happily hands me mountains of silver even while I’m offline. Great for me, but terrible for anyone who doesn’t own a mine. The biggest flaw, though, is the monetization. Spending real money grants access to stronger legendary towers, boosters and more loot across the board. Paying players gain massive advantages over those who don’t and the imbalance becomes painfully obvious in PvP. Fairness simply isn’t part of the design philosophy.
3x speed is a premium feature lmao
