About
Defeat a Demonic Outbreak
A retro wave-based shooter where you and your foes become increasingly more powerful. Battle your way through hordes of demons using the power of whatever weird and magical drinks your local vending machine has to offer.
Explore Your Local Park
While fighting off the horde, be sure to check out everything this park has to offer! You can rescue a stray dog, get scammed by talking with strangers, support a local imp union, visit the bar, raise a pet leech, take trips to exotic demonic realms, fix teleporters to bend space and time, or make deals with a sentient piano!
Keep the Fight Going
After beating the game you can enter Endless mode, where enemies get exponentially more powerful with each new wave. How long can you last against the onslaught?
Flex Your Expertise
With 50+ achievements to get, you can show just how much of a vending machine enthusiast you are! And those who unlock all achievements get a special Completionist achievement (which soon will get your name/nickname on an in-game leader board).
Get Involved
As a first-time solo developer, I am still learning lots about game-making. Reach out if you encounter any bugs or if you have your own ideas about things to add to the game. Any idea submissions added to future updates will be credited to you, so be sure to include a name or pseudonym for accreditation!

"Priest With a Gun" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Vampire Survivors (Copyright Poncle, 2023). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. The only differences here are even worse graphics and a rather pointless "priest with a gun" theme... which is explained completely in the title, so you know... if your title covers everything about your game, it's not gonna be a good game. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "Priest With a Gun" is considerably worse than Vampire Survivors. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Really, it's MS-Paint looking pixelcrap. Pixelcrap is the worst looking garbage on Steam and this looks bad even for pixelcrap. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. This wasn't designed for typical widescreen monitors, it's locked to a deprecated 4:3 aspect ratio. It won't look right on modern PCs as a result of this bizarre decision to publish a PC game that doesn't conform to the standard display form factors. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam. Note: Joke reviews As usual, with some of the worst games on Steam, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are humorous but also insincere and not reflective of the actual quality of the product, the positive review score for this game should be taken with a grain of salt.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
Before we get too deep into the developers rambling, barely coherent response, take all of this in the context of the enormity of the failure from the developer here. This product only had 3 concurrent players, and that only happened once. The developers rambling self indulgent response comes across as a delusion of grandeur against the backdrop of this pathetic failure; and objectively garbage product that gamers on Steam understandably rejected. The first thing the developer wants everyone to know is that they are "The Main Character". You, as a gamer, don't matter. They breach Valve guidelines for developers just to complain about a fully accurate and informative review (with facts their ego doesn't like). It's evident from their attitude that they never created this product with gamers in mind. They did so to stroke their own ego. When developers, especially failed ones who would never be able to get a professional job in the industry, put themselves before gamers, we end up with garbage products like this. That explains how this trash ended up on Steam, but it doesn't excuse it. At least we finally got to meet THE MAIN CHARACTER. The developer makes the rather serious claim that my review is inaccurate/contains information which isn't factually evident. But this simply isn't true... the facts of my review can easily be verified with just a glance at this godawfully crap product. We know that if there was any glaring inaccuracy in my review the developer would have jumped on it and pointed it out right away... but they can't even cite one single example. Because they know my review is accurate. They just don't like being presented with the facts. So they make up these false accusations of inaccuracy to soothe their ego. Anything but facing up to the truth. But why is this intellectual dishonesty good for gamers? It isn't. Let's break it down, because some of the claims from the developer are frankly self incriminating and add additional impetus to warn gamers away from this trash. The developer admits to brazenly stealing the game design and concepts from other, far better, actually qualified developers. This garbage, however, couldn't even come close, despite stealing the ideas of others. The developer acknowledges the game has no content and is just procgen garbage. The developer admits they didn't hire a team of talented staff to produce the game and tried to do the whole thing on their own, instead. This is a lot like boarding an airplane, and halfway through the flight, having the pilot come out and serve peanuts. It's going to end in disaster. It requires a team of competent people to do a complex job properly, and that's not what has happened here... another explanation for the poor quality of this game. Finally, the developer of this train wreck demands that my review instruct them on how to make video games, because they obviously don't know, looking at this dismal failure of this product. There is no obligation for reviews to be constructive. Reviews are not written to teach developers how to make games. They should know this before they release products on Steam. If they don't, why does this have to be a problem for gamers? Video game reviews are to inform gamers on their decisions around which games to buy, download, or spend their time playing. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this trash to anyone.
please update😭😭😭
