Such a cute game....gives cute pics with the achieves that you can use for profile decor. The only issue I have is that it doesn't increase your 'perfect games' number when you complete the game. Big sad face on that one. Otherwise, pretty fun and doesn't really fatigue your clicking hands lol It's free so, that's a plus. Have fun! Oh, the music is awesome. So cute and doge oriented.
EST Completion Time (1 Playthrough): N/A Achievements Available: 45 EST Completion Time (100% Achievements): 4 hours (w/o auto-clicker) Trading Cards Available: 0 (N/A) Poodle Clicker is a cute & silly clicker game in which your goal is to achieve the highest score possible via clicking 1 of 36 unique poodles (which change in conjunction with the song being played).
Gameplay Mechanics:
Players increase their score via active clicks and passive clicks per second (CPS), the productivity of which can be improved with upgrades, reincarnations (prestige / soft reset), & quick-time events (providing temporary boosts). There are 7 upgrade options available in your "Kennel Inventory", each of which consumes points to purchase and increases in cost with each purchase of that upgrade type. Additionally, each upgrade type can be upgraded to a maximum level based on your reincarnation level (starting with a maximum of 15 at reincarnation 0, and increasing +5 per reincarnation). Performing a reincarnation requires 100,000,000 points and resets your points & upgrades; however, it provides you with a +1x permanent multiplier boost to clicking and +5 max kennel upgrade levels, which ultimately makes it quicker & easier to increase your points score after each reincarnation. Amidst your frantic clicking & upgrading, random items will also appear on screen that will provide temporary modifiers/bonuses when clicked (such as x2, x5, 50 clicks, critical clicks, etc.). Ideally, to increase the value of these temporary boosts, you'll want to perform combos (by using multiple boosts simultaneously); this sometimes involves strategically waiting to click these boosts (but doing so before they disappear). For more competitive players, the game includes leaderboards for High Score (points) & Reincarnations — both offering global & friend-only comparisons. These leaderboards are also used in the "Recover Points" process, should your data reset and you need to recover it; however, you will only gain your High Score (points), Reincarnation level (minus one to preventing cheating), and all upgrades will be reset to 0 & need to be repurchased.
Audio & Visual:
There are 36 original songs in Poodle Clicker (most of which are rock/metal), with each song having its own corresponding unique poodle image to click. Volume sliders are available for both music & sfx, and players can skip songs they dislike (although they unfortunately can't favorite songs they like/love). While some people might argue that the game is inherently "bad" because the developer used AI-generated music and images, Poodle Clicker is an excellent example of AI being used responsibly & legitimately (to create a meaningful game and not just "slop"). Aside from the developer being transparent about the AI use, they've also included options in-game to disable the AI-generated content for both music (removing the lyrics) and images (defaulting them to real photos).
Bugs & Non-QoL Issues:
Perhaps the biggest flaw with the game — and really the only reason to potentially avoid it — was the issue with players frequently crashing (which also, unfortunately, had prevented many players from unlocking the "Longplay" achievement, therefore preventing them from being able to attain a 100% achievement score). During this bugged era (to which most of the negative reviews refer), I crashed 63 times in 4 hours; however, the crashes (despite being disruptive to immersion) were ultimately not deterrent enough to keep me away from the wholesome charm & enjoyment that Poodle Clicker otherwise offers. ➡️ As of 04/27/2026, the developer has released a patch & resolved the issue causing crashes. ⬅️
TL;DR:
With its cute poodles, addictive gameplay mechanics, & catchy tunes, Poodle Clicker is absolutely worth playing for anyone who loves dogs, metal/rock music, and/or clicker games — especially at the low price of "free." 🐩
