PokerCraft: Texas Hold'em is a pretty straightforward poker game, but I like that it focuses on the actual decision making instead of trying to bury the card game under a huge amount of extra content. It is built around Texas Hold'em with online multiplayer, AI practice and private rooms, so I can either play against real opponents or take my time learning against the computer. For a free poker game, I think that is a sensible approach. The actual poker is familiar, which is exactly what I want here. I can play quick matchmaking games, join public cash tables or create private rooms for friends. Reading the table, deciding when to fold, call or raise and trying to work out what other players might be holding is where most of the fun comes from. There is nothing particularly revolutionary about the card game itself, but the clean presentation keeps the focus where it should be. The AI training mode is a nice addition for me because it gives me somewhere to practise without immediately jumping into online matches. I can work on my decisions and get more comfortable with the game before playing competitively. I also like the Replay Room, which lets me go back through previous hands and examine important decisions. That is probably one of the better features because poker is a game where looking back at a bad decision can be just as useful as winning the hand. There is also a progression system built around experience, Chips, Gems, daily bonuses and profile customisation. I can unlock different avatars and gradually build up my poker profile as I play. I do not think this changes the actual poker very much, but it gives me some extra reasons to keep playing between matches. Limited time events and cross region online play also give the multiplayer side a little more variety. The biggest weakness for me is that PokerCraft does not really offer much beyond the standard poker formula. If I already play a lot of Texas Hold'em, there is not much here that completely changes the experience. The progression systems are mostly there to give me something to work towards, while the real depth still comes from poker itself. I also think the game will live or die by how active the multiplayer community is, since online poker obviously becomes much less interesting when finding a good table is difficult. I do appreciate the approach to online fairness. The game uses server authoritative processing, with each hand connected to a fairness code and external randomness information so the result can be checked afterwards. There is also no real money gambling and the developer says there are no pay to win advantages. There are still in game purchases, but I like that the competitive side is intended to depend on poker decisions rather than buying an advantage. Overall, I think PokerCraft: Texas Hold'em is a solid free poker game with a clean presentation and some useful features for both casual players and people who actually want to improve. The AI training, private rooms and replay analysis are the parts I found most interesting, while the fairness system gives me more confidence in the online structure. It is not trying to reinvent Texas Hold'em, and I think that is fine. As long as the multiplayer side stays active, I can see myself coming back for a few hands when I want a simple poker game without a lot of unnecessary distractions. Rating: 6.8/10
Понравилась концепция и реализация
Давно искал что-то такое. Нашел.
This is not quite the poker game you are looking for. Please try again in another version! I'm mixed on this game in terms of a rating but overall, there are too many negatives than positives. And honestly, it is mostly negatives by lots of little negatives that add up. It could be a decent poker play game with some focused updates and cleaning up of gameplay/UI - basically polishing. Positives - The focus is on poker play, Texas hold'em style. - The AI practice mode is good for getting a handle on the UI and game play before diving into real player play - It is easy to join a game and play - free chips with consecutive day play take some of the pressure off to purchase more with real funds Negatives - Poker Play issues - The AI play is not actually good for playing. They rarely fold or play like a real player. They just constantly bet and raise and chase hands that normal to decent players would never do. That would be okay but when you join a AI training room, there are 7 AI players and they ALL play this way. - There is no configuration or setting to adjust number of players or AI game play style - The betting mechanism provides quick 1/2 or 2/3 pot bets, but if you want to custom raise an amount, the slider is sensitive and you end up with weird bets, like 302 or 381. - The winning hand information tells you who won and the player's cards, but the UI doesn't indicate where on the table this person is. And it flashes up for only a few seconds, so its hard to fully understand who won and where they are on the table. - The UI doesn't clearly indicate who has the action on the table. It does, but just not very clearly so you find yourself trying to figure it out and suddenly, its you. UI issues - The UI itself is okay but its lots of little things. The game log is present but hardly worth reading. There is no time to look at it in a game because of the play speed and time to act timer, and you can't review it after a table session. - When you move the UI to a different window on a PC, it doesn't rescale appropriately, so suddenly you can't click on buttons along the edges; you have to do this dance of make windowed, move the UI, then make full screen. - See above on issues with action indication
