PLAGUN – The Plague Goes On

it's fine, fun little time but the options for settings are rather limited and the screen shake is quite obnoxious and doesn't stay off despite turning it off. there should be a middle ground option between thumb up and down... it's just okay. would be better if the screen shake was just completely removed, why does the screen shake in the menus? it's very aggressive too. but that aside it is a fun little time. without screen shake it's good and recommendable, with it, it isn't.

Since I keep getting asked to type a review by the algorithm, I'll try to keep this short and concise and might come back to expand it. Plagun is a wave-based roguelike by a two man team. It is a short game that can be done in 15-30min sessions depending on how fast you get through areas. I've found it enjoyable so far with the customization of items and underlying narrative. I do think in its current state it has some shortcominga: namely the content and balancing of loadout as I feel there's not enough variation in the areas and bosses that you go through, weapons that you get either don't seem to function as well as they should even with modifications you get, and there's random bugs that you can encounter that either stop you from moving or shooting, thus softlocking a run. As it stands, I still recommend it, and hope with the growing attending it is getting, the developers are able to roll out fixes and updates for the game.

El diseño invita a repetir sin que se sienta pesado. Estilo visual con carácter: el pixel art transmite crudeza, plaga y decadencia. Aunque algunos detalles son modestos, la atmósfera está bien lograda. Variedad de builds: las máscaras alteran estadísticas y las armas plague-infused cambian el ritmo de cada run. Esto aporta diversidad y rejugabilidad. Combate frenético: shooter 2D + oleadas + plataformas = tensión constante. Se dispara, se esquiva, se salta, se adapta. Ideal para quienes buscan acción sin pausa. Lo que puede mejorar Caos visual: cuando hay muchas oleadas y efectos, la pantalla puede volverse confusa. Esto afecta la fluidez y dificulta el control. Controles y soporte de mando: algunos jugadores señalan que el mando no está bien integrado. Saltar diálogos o enfrentar jefes puede requerir teclado, lo que rompe la inmersión. Pulido general: hay bugs menores y elementos que podrían estar más desarrollados. La historia es más plantilla que narrativa profunda, lo cual no es un problema si se busca solo acción. Repetitividad: al ser runs cortas y mecánicas similares, puede aparecer cierta monotonía si no se introducen suficientes variaciones. Veredicto Como fan del roguelike de disparos tipo “rápido y agresivo”, PLAGUN me parece una opción muy sólida para quienes buscan acción inmediata sin complicaciones narrativas. Las partidas cortas lo hacen perfecto para jugar entre tareas o cuando se quiere algo que enganche sin exigir horas. Eso sí: si valoras una historia potente o una progresión extensa, quizás sientas que le falta profundidad. Y si juegas con mando, puede que el soporte actual te frene un poco. This kind of games is not exactly my thing but I really enjoyed it! I particularly like the graphics, and the game itself is pretty intuitive! I recommend giving this a try :)
