Outcompeted While the formula is still catchy and there were smart decisions made for use of neon. The game remains rather primitive. The voxel has its charm but only goes so far as well but, again smart use of lighting here and there helps spice it up. The most annoying part of this game is that you must collect, from chests, and occasionally as random drops, little letters. Those are then brought to a procedurally spawned crafting bench to make basically ammo. This changes your default pixel adding basic things like, bigger bullets for example. Then you run out and you have to do it all over again, also on top of supplying the gems you must pay coins. Then you get armor gems, these you just socket and whatever majority color will give a special perk for that color and the rest is stat boost based on the gem you put in. The armors also make you tankier for a bit giving you free hits. The UI is basic but does a good job of keeping track of that. The game is boring and the hitboxing on the protag felt a tad dubious. In any case armor just meant I played looser. Goal of game is to find a red key, a blue key, and a blue key, then bring it to RGB pillar to exit. In theory if you balance you ressources just right you can proceed for a bit. The AI is also trivially outsmarted by basic kiting action, which is heavily compensated by in form of large HP pools, so the fights draw out. Conclusion: Cute and might keep your thumbs busy for an evening at best but ultimately you would be best playing Gungeon or Isaac or any proper dedicated twinstick shooters
Don't take my review seriously
The music is annoying and sucks. The controls are horrid. Why did I bother with this anyhoo? I don't even like top down/ bird's eye view or whatever this camera control is called. So bad
It is weird when a game you enjoyed is no longer available to buy.
Yes.
I enjoyed this game. You run through randomly generated levels shooting enemies and picking up power ups. You can stack power ups (I believe 3 at a time) to make unique effects. The music is great, the atmosphere and colors are great too. I think they did a good job on this game, and it was a lot of fun.
