An indie clone of Pushmo. Not super polished but there is a lot of content and a full level editor.
Just a really nice charming little puzzle game.

Really fun puzzle game. Essentially a spiritual successor to the 3DS game Pushmo, which is no longer available for purchase. I'm pretty awful at puzzle games but still had fun working through the levels. The game does a really good job at balancing teaching the player and giving enough freedom to solve puzzle on your own, a big part of that being that the tutorial and hints are optional. The rewind feature also works really well and removes the tedium that may have otherwise existed when you inevitable make a mistake. Mix in the satisfying puzzle solving with platforming that feels great, and sprinkle in some surprisingly good music and an overall relaxing vibe, and the end result is a very fun game.
used to have this exact game , very happy to get it on steam
This is an addictive, polished puzzler with charming graphics. The tutorial levels are very well designed and gently ramp up the difficulty. The mechanics are minimalist and simple to learn, but the puzzles do a lot with them. I haven't beat all of the levels yet, but once past the tutorial solving each level feels like a little victory that makes you keep wanting to play just one more level. There are a couple of side menus where the gamepad doesn't seem to be supported yet (character customization and level creator), but everything in game feels great with a gamepad or with key+mouse.
this dev open source the sequel!
I adored Pushmo on the 3DS and this perfectly scratches that itch, 150+ base levels plus an infinite amount of workshop levels for only $0.99 cents is seriously crazy deal, apparently when the game first launched it was $4.99 however I assume the dev changed the price after the game didn't sell great. With everything here I would have happily bought the game for $10+. TLDR: If you're at all a fan of the Pushmo games or Puzzle games in general I 1000% recommend picking it up. (pspspspsps play my custom levels and maybe make some of your own id like more to play hehe)
I have played and 100 percented Pushmo, Pushmo World, Crashmo, and Stretchmo. Pictopull is not even close to these other games in terms of both quality and difficulty. -- In the Pushmo quadrilogy, aesthetics were bright and rounded so they could be differentiated from the dull-colored, angular Pushmo/Crashmo/Stretchmo puzzles. Trees were round, clouds were round, even the character you play as (Mallo) and their species *are* round. Pictopull gets rid of that. Set-dressing and textures have Mega Man Legends aesthetic, being made up of pixels (squares), not too dissimilar to the Pictopull puzzles themselves. And, in an older version of Pictopull, the character you played as was a direct rip-off of Minecraft skins, pixel by pixel. Now, the character you play as is a robot, filled with sharp angles and devoid of any roundness in sight. Now--I will say, making the robot dull colors ironically does wonders in making them stand out since Pictopulls are a lot more colorful than Pushmo puzzles. But the fact that the city is still filled with Minecraft cube characters rubs me the wrong way, since I feel more robots would be just as good. Now onto the puzzles themselves... they are bad. Bad, not in the sense that they are easy, but they are astronomically difficult and don't make any logical sense. Like, why are there two puzzles of related to flags (Zimbabwe and Mexico) and both are completely different sizes and not even in the same world? Not to mention this game eclipses any Pushmo game's difficulty after the 3rd world and it only gets harder from there. So much so, most people don't even beat half of this game's puzzles, and those who *do*, well... just look through the reviews, and you'll find someone who 100 percented Pictopull with over 500 hours put into it. The puzzles feel like they were meant to challenge the developer, not the players actually consuming and playing the game. This game is not meant for everyone, or even Pushmo series fans. If you feel even the slightest bit intimidated by this game, or beating the demo took you at least 4-5 hours, do not buy this or give it to your worst enemy. There are no guides or walkthroughs past World 5 (said walkthroughs being made by the developer themself), and the closest thing I could find to one past that point was a Vtuber stream from 2023, pre-final update when the exploits used in it were patched out. -- Save yourself the trouble of buying this and wait for the dev to make the sequel they said they were working on. Hopefully, it'll be a more accessible and artistically interesting Pushmo sucessor than this.
This game really surprised me, I was not expecting this kind of puzzles and I found them very nice and well thought. The visuals are nice, the game mechanic is very original, and you will not get lost in complex menus. The learning curve keeps you interested being neither easy nor hardcore difficult. If you like puzzles and you are looking for a game that will keep you interested for a few hours I think this one is great. I fully recomend it!
