Pharoah's Tomb is an ancient Apogee shareware 2D puzzle/shooter platformer game with an archaological theme. The game is extremely old, featuring 4 colour CGA graphics. The game would only be of interest for nostaligia purposes as it's extremely dated and clunky (Commander Keen is much better). Also, 3D Realms are aggressively price gouging these old games for the sake of nostalgia, and it's really not acceptable behaviour, so this gets a thumbs down.

As with virtually every other review for this game, this game was part of my childhood. And if it was in yours, I'd suggest avoiding this game and leaving your memories as-is. Pharaoh's Tomb has aged very badly, and has awful collision-detection that makes you want to quit playing very quickly.
2/10
If I had to review the game with a single word, it would be "unforgiving." Some levels are difficult; sometimes, you'll get the timing wrong and make a misstep just before completing the level, meaning you have to start the entire level from the beginning, or you'll simply run out of lives. However, the type of challenge the game delivers is still enjoyable to this day. If you have the game in your library and you enjoy platformers, definitely give it a try.
been playing this little gem for decades. it's old school platform run an d jump dodge the danger and sometimes you get to shoot back, the levels are simplistically complicated trying to get your sprite to fit through areas that look like he should fit but somehow doesn't cuz your supposed to go the other way.
Very basic, decent old school platformer with clunky controls
A classic up there with Artic adventure.
i got this game in the 3D Realms bundle which was for a short time here to get on steam. Knowing this is one (or even the first) of their very very very earlier games, people should know that this is not a "Master piece". The Controles are (kinda) simple but the hitboxes are the "worst". You jump over spikes, youre dead. You dodge a bullet, youre dead. Youre falling next to a monster, youre dead. This game actually could make a hole much more fun if those hitboxes are not that bad - and i really mean they ARE bad. It still is "some kind" of funny but still it gets very quick frustrating about this hotboxes and the way it plays. So you sure can give it a try, for the "retro feeling" but players who look for a "good game from the earlier years" should really avoid it.
Engine and hit detection are quite awful, and the game looks much older than it is. Occasionally entertaining, but really only recommended for hardcore retro gamers.
