Some games entertain you. Some games stay with youu. im genuinelyy grateful that i was born in a time where i could experience something like thiss. Out of everything humanity has everr created, somehow this storyy found its way to me, and i dont think ill ever forget it. P3R isnt just one of thee best games ive ever played, itss one of the mostt beautiful experiencee ive everr had. I'm grateful to be alive in a world where people can create such masterpieces. thank youu ATLAS, and thank youu Persona 3, for remindingg me to cherish the timee i havee<33
History development is kinda snail-paced, but pretty fun. Soundtrack has only BANGERS songs!! (disturbing the peaceeee, look into my eyeeeeeees...)
A great remake from an amazing franchise
Persona 6's reveal got me hyped to play this, and I ended having alot of fun. I don't usually play alot of turn based RPG's, Except Atlus' games. Main reasons for that are the story, characters, artstyle & music, and this game delivers all those in spades!
+ Positives
+ Story = The game mainly tackles themes of death & finding the will to move on. The dark hour phenomenon is a great plot thread that keeps surprising you till the end. Sad and bittersweet character moments, and the ending was near perfect! Almost got me choked up. + Characters = I ended up liking almost all the characters. Very well written and voice acted (both English and Japanese). + Music = Persona always kicks a$$ when it comes to music, and this game is not an exception to that rule. Amazing, melancholic tracks with a spirinkle of hip-hop. + Artstyle = Jaw dropping UI design! They used unreal engine 4 to its full effect! lovely character models and usage of colors too! Good PC optimization as usual.. Ran smooth. + Combat = Combat is cool, albeit a bit easy at times, So I cranked it up to hard. All out attacks still feels satisfying to pull off.
- Negatives
- Pacing = The main goal of the game is to climb a 260 floor building to reach the end boss, but I wish it had 60 less floors. It would've really helped with the pacing, as I felt the game dragged a bit in the end. - Not many good bosses = There are "boss fights", but I felt the game lacked in cool boss mecahnics & fights. Most bosses functioned similar to each other.
.. Nitpicks
1. Wish you could do more in the school man. The city also felt alot smaller than Persona 4 & 5. Not many activities to do. 2. Too many party members to select for a battle, but you can only go with a team of 4 (including yourself).
++Extra Point
There is a dog in the game that can use the persona ability and he plays an integral part in your team! You can also pet him and take him on walks!
Final Score = 9.0
Bring on P4 Revival!
Every journey comes to an end inevitably so; however, it is very often that the value of the journey itself and that specific experience will provide the right answer and the right path for us as we’ve reflected our time throughout each journey. Before Reload, I have always heard good reviews and endless praises for P3P back in my school year. Not gonna lie, in the beginning I was a little spectacle of looking into the game because I was all set in the beliefs of that Persona 4 Golden was the game for me and that I found resonance in that game where I wouldn’t be able to find anything as similar nor as genuine as that in other JRPGs with such distinct modern flairs and vivid yet unique aesthetics. Really not until now that I know how much I was proven wrong that Persona 3 is a masterpiece of its own right with story progression and its clever ways of storytelling during the ending sequences that made me absolutely jaw-dropped through and through! The highlights of this game for me were most definitely the character developments and the battling skills & progression of the gameplay. Yes it is true that it took some time for the game to finally allow you with a roster of gameplay choices and battling personas to play; but they made it fun by combining dynamic events within dungeon exploration with many satisfying finishing moves to choose from during battles. I would say the pacing of each battle flows a lot better than the battles of P5R as I have just completed both titles consecutively. I also enjoyed building my teams for the end-game hidden boss(es). It was TRUE HELL seeing Elizabeth summoning her Pixie to one-shot me for the countless re-tries that I would rather forget LOL… In Episode Aigis, it’s a shame that they forced you to replay quite a lot as you will lose most of your abilities and personas that you’ve gained during your main story. However, be a little more patient about things and once you’ve made your way to the finale, you will understand that it is all worth it in the end. Men the story’s GOOD! :)
It was my first Persona and overall first ATLUS experience. I really loved the story and the game overall, but honestly one thing that threw me off completly, making me drop the game quite a few times, was the Tartarus Tower, this game's dungeon. Its incredibly repetitive, everything pretty much looks the same, the enemies are just reused enemies with different weakness, makes the tower experience kinda bland. If you like intense grind, like genuinely intense grind you'll enjoy the tower. If not then you will likely hate it. The social links, they were honestly all pretty cool, though I skipped two because I didn't find them as interesting. I'd say my favourite ones were the Sun social link and Mitsuru's. If you have the chance play it likely after any other Persona game, dont let this be your first Persona experience. Overall Rating: 7/10 Story Rating: 9/10 Gameplay: 6/10 (due to repetitiveness)
Persona 3 Reload is, for me, the quintessential Persona experience. Given that Persona 5 is in a league of its own for visual presentation, the timing was absolutely right to give this game a fresh coat of paint. Atlus have done a stellar job with everything here - Reload perfectly toes the line between faithful and modern to deliver one of the best remakes in recent memory. As for Persona 3 itself: in my opinion, it’s the best in the series by far. The characters are excellent, and have a palpable sense of growth as you progress through the story and social links. The story itself is unique, in that it evokes a sense of stake and urgency that both 4 and 5 couldn’t quite capture. This game is at its best in its darkest moments; the sheer weight of some of its hardships brings out something special in the connections you have with the cast. The soundtrack remains fantastic, and the remake gave a lot of its songs a welcome breath of new life. There are also a few additions to the soundtrack in Reload, which by my judgement are some of the absolute best in the series to date. I adored the time I spent with this game and I didn’t want it to end. I’ll remember this game fondly and I will undoubtedly try FES again someday.
