It can get repetitive run after run and the new league aspects don't always clear the dust off. However, it's a game you can put down for 3 years and come back to with no problems. There is life in chat and you can even sometimes get a non-sarcastic answer to inane questions. Usually, and they're right to do so, you'll be referred to the PoE Wiki or a search engine. If you can't alt-tab out, just say so and that often entices them into being kinder. Not by much - works about as well as my soften butter button on my microwave I was so excited about (total scam!). Every once in a while you'll come across someone like me who doesn't mind inane questions. After 3 though - you're on your own! The latest league (Curse of the Allflame) is decent. The issue with the charts is that you'll easily outlevel the acts, which can be a good thing or it can make the game boring for those who prefer death loops to completing tasks. Fellow amputees: yep - you can play this if you're missing fingers or a hand, and without a controller. I use a mouse with programmable (assignable) buttons on the side. If you can hit at least the QWER buttons and use a mouse with buttons, you're set. I'm only using buttons 1 - 6 and then QWER for potions (button 1 is my first potion). If you need more, or QWER is too difficult to aim for, there are also keyboards that have macro buttons that are easier to hit than QWER. There are builds that require fewer skills than others. It's a game you can usually walk away from while still in-game and come back to find your character still logged in. It's why I have over 1000 hours on the board. I have Not played that much! I'd Really be sick of the game if I had. Played hours I maybe have 200 over the years across 9 characters. Most of it is AFK where I walked away and forgot I was playing the game. 🤷‍♀️ It happens. It's basically Diablo, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, etc . . . but with different spells and ways to obtain gear / spells. Spells are also far more customizable. Highly recommend following a leveling build for your first round - that skill board can be overwhelming at first glance.
