I gotten to the final boss and I couldn't take it anymore. Aside from not being that invested in the story after not being able to follow the first flashback and didn't really like the feeling when I walk around the world, I didn't enjoy the combat at all. Dodging attacks was okay for the most part, especially the attack where I roam freely. However, any attack that involves timing was frustrating to time correctly and I swear I was getting bads with a full, green charge bar for the basic attack. I know the final boss doesn't really have the timing attack I hated but I just didn't care anymore.

Free Turn Based JRPG that goes from 0 to time travel rather quickly. There are a lot of leaps in logic and story concepts that just drag you along without really explaining themselves, the narrative threads they set up, the people involved, or the conclusions they reach. It's a weird one and the ending I got didn't really satisfy. They seem to aim for a 2nd playthrough that requires you to not try to unlock all your memories which feels a bit counterintuitive and I'm not sure its worth it honestly. Pros: Very novel use of turn based combat. It is a pretty bite sized JRPG that will take you about 2 to 4 hours depending. Story dives into weird. You'll either stick along for the ride or just lose interest. It has its tropes but I respect what they're going for to an extent. Controller Support Decent Settings Options Okay Performance. I really like the art style and cosmetics of this game. It's a good look. Cons: Traversal Speed even when running is slower than a snail traveling on a trail of syrup during a snowstorm. Story is okay but has the following issues
1) They set up characters in the future that you never actually meet or know in the past which would help give a bit more weight to the future. They also have people from the preset that you never see in the future which again kinda doesn't help the stakes. 2) World building feels really weird if I think about it. Why is my character walking around with a sword and fighting robots in the city? Why aren't the robots fighting everyone? Are the robots not fighting anyone else in the city? 3) What's the deal with our scientist friend? We aren't friends in the future. I never understood why she ran from the woods to the city. What was she after? What relevance did she provide? She could be removed and nothing would change. 4) Alice's plight, her mom and that whole story felt a bit off. I get what they were setting up but I feel like they didn't have proper setup to really work for me. Why is a little girl mad I'm defending myself from robots that want to kill me? Why isn't she convincing the robots to stop fighting me? Why is she sad she can't go outside when I met her outside? Why is her robot mom my final opponent? 5) People from the future, needed past selves or something for us to be attached to.
Game Balancing feels a bit all over the map. You can easily grind to Overpowered ness or just feel so bored with combat you avoid it and it's impossible to avoid it with your poor moving speed. No sub bosses or interim challenges makes the combat feel dull. Also it's very easy to just do basic attacks for 90% of the game and realize near the end that you have other skills. You can't use Mana to heal your injuries. You can't use more than one memory or make unique builds. The leveling and customization system is very limited. Conclusion: The game is fun but I'm not sure it'll stick with you or make the case as a hidden gem. It's fine, for free it's a good time but there's probably something in your backlog that's probably more worth it.
