Super chill fun game. Great for relaxing and avoiding stress. Wonderful community

Super fun and cozy to play if you enjoy decorating type games. The co-op features in the gameplay are fun and entirely optional which I appreciate. It can feel a little too grindy for a casual player. I often don't have enough time to play to make any progress. I've been stuck on the same quest for six months which is discouraging. Still it is enjoyable and the community is great.

good chill game to play alone when bored or to play with friends, a really good try
There is a game buried underneath the cash shop cosmetics. I know, because I played through it all and it was very enjoyable. I put the game down until the next story update, though, as there's little to do for a solo adult player once the actual storyline ends, and unfortunately when I picked it up again I completely forgot you only get one character slot... and have to jump through hoops to delete and start fresh. I'd been away too long and forgotten the story, so the interest in playing again without a refresher first isn't there. I'm sure if you're the target audience (teens and tweens with pocket money to spend on sweets and sparkly stuff) running around in your cash shop sexy maid's outfit/wedding dress/ball gown, your cash shop pet, cash shop name flare, cash shop gear skins, and cash shop angel/devil wings with your friends sporting their own is the main event. Like all anime style games, the more cash shop users on screen the trashier the game looks to my eyes, and it kept making me crave an offline mode. The community is well behaved, but that's largely due to a very strict in-game moderation policy. I don't doubt that without it, the chat would be a cesspool as it is in other games like this. The dating element I've not touched, as just like all dating games your choices are the obligatory sulking/simple teenage boys and a single grouchy adult with golem pecs. The trailer makes it clear that they added a romanceable robot for people like me, which feels more insulting than anything. The robot still has a personality, so I'm not sure what they think they're fixing with this option. Marriage in these dating sims just replaces your favourite character with a Stepford wife anyway, so I'm perfectly happy staying single. I'm not usually a minigames person, but they're fun in Palia. The whole game (if you can heave the layer of cash shop off it) feels very like a game from the early 2000's called Free Realms, and that's a compliment. Although, I think if you're old enough to remember Free Realms you'll likely be too old to fully enjoy Palia. As I said, it is *very* teeny-tweeny. One last note on the gameplay: This game is unique in that there are no enemies to fight. No combat. What there is, however, is hunting and what you hunt is incredibly cute pet-like wild animals. Hunting involves shooting an animal before it's noticed you, and if it doesn't die in one hit chasing it down as it runs away. It feels icky... and I mean, *really* icky. If there wasn't an achievement tied to hunting I'd never have touched it, it just feels wrong. Combat is fun in games, and it would be nice to see monsters or bad guys introduced so the simulated violence feels justified rather than bullying and cruel. Nothing fights back. That being said, this is one of many games that brands itself as 'cosy', which seems to have become code for a world where every emotional crisis resolves after one pep talk, and everything is good even if it isn't because it's got a smiley face painted on it. If that's what you're looking for, you'll be happy, but for anyone looking for something a little less performative and fomo-heavy, you'd be better served - as would I - elsewhere.
really good game. i was septical at first because the game is free but 10\10. Theres always a new quest\task to do and always things to do.
I just love Palia so much. I've been playing pretty much since the game was first released and its just perfect to me. the graphics are beautiful and there are so many different landscapes to explore. For me, leveling up skills is just at the right amount of difficulty. There's so much creative freedom when it comes to how you dress in game as well as how you furnish your house. The characters you interact with have so much depth to them and you can just tell a lot of hard work has been put into this game. It continues to get better and better because the devs absolutely listen to feedback. Much love for everyone involved in the creation of Palia.
an amzing game very kind community can be a little confuseing to start but ones you get the first few quests done it is amazing and beutifule grafics and building highly recommand
