Liked the game quite a alot, been playing it on and off for some time now but with the introduction of premium storage and stuff like "servers/lobbys" you can rent where you are able to build in the overworld i cant recommend this game anymore. Keep in mind that with the premium storage you get 100k Slots instead of a maximum of 18k Slots (for 100 bucks).
I used to love this game but it really feels like they lost the plot after the horse update. It's just not fun anymore and its full of glitches that dont seem like will ever get fixed.

The microtransactions were always ridiculously priced ($30+ for an outfit, really?) But the recent update has really shown the company's true intentions. How many years has this game been considered "beta" with how empty most of the maps feel? On top of spending over $30 for outfits, COLORS (yes, some colors to customize items must be purchased), makeup and now storage? I have spent money in the early days because I sunk so many hours in on Switch, but this game isn't worth paying more than $5 for microtransactions.
The game started off promising. I was no-lifing my way through the initial story and loved most parts of it. And then the cash grabbing started. The Zeki coins thing made sense, almost like paying a subscription to support the developer. The pet to storage thing is skimming p2w. It's a QoL feature tied to how much you pay. Last update added "optional" paid storage with a big pink button in your storage that you can't opt out of -- no thank you. And for the love of everything purple in the game... Why do the new modular houses not have windows?! Why are they either opaque stained glass or mirror-like fake glass? Lastly... either tell me where to find the whale bone or stop adding the quest to the tracker every time I complete a different quest. A few more things: Let us pick if we want to gift a more feminine or masculine outfit to a friend. Give us a bug fixing, code fixing, game fixing update instead of "moar coinzzz" updates.
Games evolving backwards and S6 are now completely ignoring the fact they said no gameplay would be locked behind a paywall. Players have been asking for more storage, so what do S6 do? Paid Storage for £5 PER UPGRADE???? Beyond this the amount of bugs with the game has increased with every update and S6 refuse to give any sort of response as to what is being worked on. I also submitted a bug report over a YEAR AGO and the bug still has not been fixed despite being told it would be. Do not financially support this game
As much as I love this game, the recent introduction of paid storage marks a significant shift in the morals of the developers and, thus, the future of Palia. S6 is proving to us that they are no better than large AAA gaming companies that use predatory monetization tactics to keep their playerbase paying for longer. It starts small. It starts optional. But I foresee a future where this game will no longer be playable without paying egregious amounts for major advantages. What an incredible shame and disappointment.
S6 = EA's clone In summation: - Monitised hell. - Major transactions in its premium store, nothing micro about it: 32 euro for A SINGLE SKIN is fkn insane and damn shameless. With 2 skins or a riding license you can buy AAA-games instead. - Paywalled a lot of their newly added features to the game. Got a horse? You gotta buy a riding license to be able to use it. Expanding storage more now also costs money, whereas before you could just upgrade them. - No new quests, a lot of the old ones are unfinished/buggy. - Upped the grind so much there is nothing "cozy" left about this game. - Bug city, every new update either breaks the servers, game, and creates many new ones > rivals Bugged by Daylight. - FOMO tactics, despite what they stated previously, they've locked up certain animals, items, and the like behind the monthly board quests. So no, I don't rec this game. You might enjoy it in the first month, but once its novelty wears off there is nothing to it but you having wasted your time. Spend your leisure time on a different game that is actually worth it tbh.
As of right now I have to leave a negative review. Overall I enjoy the game but the greed is ruining it.
used to be a fav game of mine but the monetization progressively worsening has really put a damper on enjoying the game. Cosmetics should not cost $40 NZD for one outfit, and storage now needing money to expand is ridiculous. I really loved this game but with the direction its going i dont think im gonna continue playing it :((
S6 made this game with a powerful stance against pay-for-convenience monetization models. As of August 26th, 2026, without any warning, S6 has quietly announced the monetization of core gameplay mechanics with their introduction of premium storage. If that didn't already disgust you, it currently costs $140 CAD and there's no other way to access that amount of storage (100,000 slots) without payment. With very little push back by the community, this opens the door for even more core features to be monetized. This is a predatory business model that has negatively affected other games acquired by Daybreak.
