It's janky, the MTX store is overpriced, but hot damn is this game addictive. Overall this game is a very chill experience with a lovely community. It can be a bit grindy with a lot of back and forth at times but if youre into these types of games that's part of the experience. If you're into building and decorating your own home youre going to have a blast as you can do so much with the editor. I'm personally too lazy so my house is halfway between a hoarders paradise and a cozy home but I am currently building a battlefield of crabs and frogs in a knife battle over treasure (legitimately). If that doesn't sell it I don't knbow what will.
Fuyez.

I genuinely love Palia. I’ve put a lot of time into this game, and I keep coming back because there is always something I enjoy doing. The worlds are cool, the gameplay is relaxing and fun, and the developers have continued adding events, expansions, characters, quests, furniture, cosmetics, and other content that gives you reasons to keep playing. I especially love how distinct the characters feel. They have their own personalities, stories, relationships, and little quirks, and I’ve enjoyed seeing the cast grow since the game released. I also play almost entirely solo, and Palia is very playable that way. There are tons of resources online if you get stuck on a quest, need to figure out where something spawns, want to know what time a certain fish or bug appears, or just need help understanding one of the game’s systems. I’ve been able to accomplish the vast majority of what I want without needing to constantly group up with other players. My biggest warning to new players has very little to do with the actual game: the community can be incredibly toxic. There are a LOT of community-created “rules” and expectations that aren’t actually rules of the game, and some players will get genuinely angry if you don’t follow them. If you’re new or primarily play solo, you may not even know these expectations exist until someone decides you’ve broken one. Things that are supposed to be cooperative or casual can become stressful because some people expect everyone else to play according to whatever etiquette they personally believe is correct. The community can also become extremely hostile whenever there is a controversial update or decision from the developers. The recent backlash surrounding paid storage is a good example. It’s an optional feature for players who want to purchase it, and yet some of the reactions I’ve seen have been unbelievably nasty. It’s completely reasonable to criticize monetization or disagree with decisions made by the developers, but the hostility toward anyone who doesn’t share those criticisms can get exhausting. If you say that something doesn’t bother you, or that you actually like a change other people hate, people can get mean very quickly. Thankfully, you do NOT need to be heavily involved with the community to enjoy Palia. I mostly keep to myself, use online guides when I need them, help other players when I can, and enjoy the game at my own pace. Played that way, Palia is my favorite cozy game. So yes, I absolutely recommend Palia. There is a huge amount to love here, especially for a free-to-play game, and it continues to grow. Just remember that the loudest members of the community don't represent everyone playing it. There are plenty of kind people in game who just want everyone to have a good time. Play how you want, be kind to other players, and don’t let someone else’s made-up rules dictate how you enjoy the game. <3
:')) Mais là, le STORAGE PAYANT ? pardon ? on est loin du "we will not monetize any core gameplay in Palia." _____________________________ paid storage is NOT ok ! you said : "We will not monetize any core gameplay in Palia. [...] We believe this is critical for you to feel great about the time you spend in Palia. There’s a corollary of this that we want to be upfront about: if you can’t buy the things you earn, it also means you won’t be able to earn the things you can buy. Ultimately, we believe that by separating these systems, we can ensure that we’re always designing what’s best for gameplay while selling products that are worth purchasing for what they are. We believe this is the right balance to make the best game experience we can." and then we should start paying for storage, why ? all this while we have unlimited storage for furnitures ? the storage is a part of a core gameplay, it is not cosmetic !
Sadly feels like a cash grab. Looks good, but teleport is paid (and the map is ABSURDLY big, forcing you to either pay for teleport or wasting hours simply walking from point A to point B), and game doesn't tell you anything about how to get a free horse, had to find out myself... Anyway. I was very excited to play this one, but played about two hours and after finding out I would have to walk back to a quest about 83328932 miles away, I gave up. If they ever make the teleport functions free, game can be enjoyable for sure.
Yes, I would- and have recommend Palia to others. But, with a few warnings. First the game can be glitchy. Like your pet may float in the air, or run in place. The other warning is even though this game is free to play, and you don't have to spend money on it. It is moving towards a Pay to Win type of game. For example, if you work on "unlocking" a new item during game play. The premium items can often be unusable until you pay (real money) to actually use them. Which, I am not a fan of. If I do challenges/ paths and "unlock" an item- that should be it. I should be able to use that item w/o paying anything! The Premium items from the game store are often overpriced as well. I would not mind spending $ 5 to even $ 10 on a license to be able to ride a fancier mount or to have nicer clothes, mainly cosmectic items. But this is not the case- it can cost much, much more! Palia- my advice to you- work on your game bugs, make all pathing/ challange items usable and free of charge, and last -reduce the cost of Store Premium items.
I am very disappointed that they chose the pay to win path instead of just charging a reasonable amount for the game. Instead, the game is "free" but needed/desired content seems to be locked in more expensive than normal dlcs. Disappointing behavior from what I thought seemed to be a promising game.
