This game is unusually deep in almost every detail of managing a baseball team. There is depth and evident care on the part of the game's makers in almost every facet: you can play as almost any team on earth, get really involved in the pay structure and bonuses in player contracts, rule over a fully functioning minor league system, set the rosters of various leagues at any size, and control how many new players come into the game each year, to name just a few out of literally hundreds of such features. In-game graphics are very rudimentary, yet the baseball games themselves are oddly compelling, with some excellent sound work really helping out. The crack of the bat sounds fantastic. Get this game if the idea of controlling a front office sounds exciting to you. I can't stop playing it.

Its a really great game if you're a huge baseball fan. I love the simulation aspect of the game and in my heart I've always wanted to be a GM
Overall, I do really enjoy many aspects of this game. However, there's so many times that it has crashed (losing season(s) of work or has corrupted my save also losing seasons of progress. It's way too buggy. I know many have moved on to 19, 20, 21, but I haven't and don't see why I should for full price. I also would like the Japanese leagues and others to have full logos and such without having to add those in myself everytime.
Great feel for the flow of the tactical game and the impact of the day-to-day events on the big picture of your franchise. Love the fictional league options --- create your own league and immerse yourself in its unique characteristics and complexities.
The game is truly fantastic! Really enjoy playing it. It has a lot of advantages: incredible simulation of management, a lot of different factors influencing the success of the team, fascinating realism (for example, you can be shocked how close are the demanded sums of the contact you are negotiating with your players to the amounts from the real life). Frankly speaking, this game made me study baseball and, as the result, fall in love with it - with its complex CBA, minor league system etc. However, there are some minuses. I can't say these drawbacks significantly decrease overall great impression the game made on me, but I think solving them will be the next step forward for making this game more challenging and remarkable. First of all, there is a problem with luxury tax. I have set different percentiles in order to make rich teams like Dodgers pay more though I was insuccessful. It looks like it doesn't work as you want. They can exceed it by a large amount and pay just a little bit. If we look at the real baseball, teams are very conscious in not exceeding the luxury tax cap (only under serious circumstances like signing Mookie Betts or Geerit Cole do they agree to this). Secondly, to my mind, the game is a little bit complex. Some people want to study baseball using the game but you have to do it yourself bacause here it is very difficult to find explanation (you need to address the manual which is not very comfortable). It prevents game from being international. Not every country in the world know baseball like in the USA whereas the game is truly interesting and can draw more attention if people understand what they are playing and what are the consequences of theis decisions. Not every player will be studying baseball like me to understand this, by all means, wonderful game. Thank you very much for this game. Waiting for fixing all the issues I've mentioned (espacially the first one because I've already solved the second one for me) and I'll be very glad to buy the new version.
Best sports simulation game on the market. Baseball is probably my third favorite sport, behind Football and Basketball. But OOTP baseball consistently blows every other sports game out of the water. It's incredibly dynamic and it doesn't feel like there's an aspect of the game you don't have some kind of control over. Worth every penny.
Je recommande ce jeu à chaque année. En même temps j'ai acheté les jeux de EA Sports à chaque année, suis-je une référence?
