Enjoy this free, small visual novel about two former heroes trying to rekindle their relationship by revisiting the journey where it all began in Our Winding Road. I want to highlight how the dialogue between characters is presented. It is not your standard text bar that runs across the bottom of the screen. In this novel the dialogue is placed beside the character talking in small dialogue boxes. It is very effective and well done. The general text (that is not any dialogue spoken by a character) still appears at the bottom of the screen. An example of the in-game dialogue (love how they represented dialogue between characters). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3465816021 🌶️ Spice Level - text only descriptions of a sexual nature but this can be turned off if desired. So spicy if you turn it on and mild otherwise.
Settings & Features
Settings & features include; display options, text skip and speed options, audio controls and animation options. Also includes font choices. Features include a history log and plenty of save slots.
The Visuals & Audio
I enjoyed the art in this novel, animated sprites that are beautifully illustrated with cell shading. I do wish there were a couple of cg’s to unlock as the rest of the art was beautiful. There is no voice acting but there are some nice ambient sounds such as birds chirping, horses trotting and a running stream. The music has a medieval bard-tavern vibe that is very soothing. Sets the atmosphere of the novel nicely. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3465848640
Overall Experience
Poor Rowan is trying so hard to make Jori happy and to fix the rift that has developed between them. I like the banter between them, it is fluid and natural. You really get a sense that they care for one another and are trying to hold on to what was. I did get a few bad endings but finally snagged the good one. 🌿

Please follow our curator page, Otome Lovers, if you'd like to see more reviews like this one! Broke back mountain 2
This is a visual novel of a story about a non-binary couple, Jori and Rowan, who are on a dangerous quest to complete a mission while they try to rekindle their relationship. While tension builds up, we play as Rowan (one of the couple), trying to discover why their partner (Jori) is being distant from them and trying to avoid revealing anything on their mind. Our goal is to reach a complete and achieve the ending we wanted (either a "good" or a "bad" ending) by making dialogue choices that impact the narrative in the direction it is going. So far, there are 4 different endings (from what I found), but you can easily get a bad ending if you don't make specific choices in the right order. In my experience, I found it difficult to get a "good" ending. I believe I have over 61 save files, mostly me testing and experimenting with different choices, and the game kept telling me to “try and try again”, so I did, again and again, more than I should, but I digress. I was really invested in seeing if there was a happy ending, and there's no achievement to tell you, so you can say this was a challenge I must conquer in itself. Despite all of those hurdles, I enjoyed the game even if it was tedious for me to find the “good” endings I was looking for because I didn't want to uninstall the game on a bad note. I'm glad I pushed myself to see the ineffable. Other than the story, there are a lot of things to appreciate about the game. Firstly, there is one of the rare cases where there is a story focused on 2 non-binary main characters who go by they/them, and for one, it wasn't as hard of a read-through as I would have expected if I knew about it at first. I read stories before with multiple characters going by they/them/their, where it was difficult to differentiate between them properly due to the pronoun, so I'm glad this wasn't the case here, making it an easy read. Another little thing about the game was the dyslexique font option. I didn't realise it at first, but once I selected the options, I found it was more useful than I realised, so kudos to the developers for adding these options. All visual novels should include this option to support every reader. In addition to the font option, I also like the little animation with the character's hair waving to whoever is speaking. This is a nice indicator to tell who's talking, even though we don't need that, thanks to the speech bubble... I just like to say I found the subtle animation cute and different much like this game.
좀 많이 병신같은 게임. 선택지에 게임 엔딩이 결정나는 흔한 방식인데 그 방식에서 우리들이 원하는 대답은 보기 힘듬. 아니 걍 병신임 이건
"Contains explicit descriptions of sex. (Can be avoided via an in-game choice)" That's a lie. The game is okay, the conversation variations are nice, although the ending is twice longer than it needs (like Lord of the Rings, you get an ending and then for some reason it keeps going). But why not! The rest is hard but good enough. I probably wouldn't leave any review, positive or negative, if the store page didn't outright lie about the sex scenes. At no point was there a choice (that didn't result in a game over)
Sivil hayattan hayal kırıklığına uğramış eski kahramanlar Rowan ve Jori, gergin ilişkilerini yeniden canlandırmak umuduyla aşık oldukları yolculuğun adımlarını takip ettikleri sapkın bir oyun.
Great game but look at that kitty, whoever pass by can pet it and give it a thumbs up. 🌹 Have a nice day :3 /> フ | _ _ l /` ミ_xノ / | / ヽ ノ │ | | | / ̄| | | | | ( ̄ヽ__ヽ_)__) \二つ
Really enjoyed this one overall. Was happy to see a game where both partners are non-binary they/them. The story isn't too short nor too long. It's about a retired adventuring couple whose relationship has gone a bit on the rocks for various reasons, going on a journey to try and rekindle their relationship. The PoV character has some fun puns for some of their choices, and the two character's banter was interesting throughout. There's a fair few "bad ends" along the route. I think I somehow managed to pick most of the choices that lead to the good ending (though it also said a "try again" message so I wasn't sure). Going back later to pick other options didn't get that far before ending though so I think it was the "good end" after all.
