I was one of the beta key testers, the game is so much fun! Perfect quick matches, I really like the Aetheron race. Perfect for slightly longer games (11-15ish minutes). I can't wait to get my friends on!
Orion wars is a refreshing return to games that are made by real people, bringing passion back to the world of gaming! The quick game times make for a light and fun experience, with multiple approaches to achieve victory, and so many races to choose from you can experience the game time and time again! Indie games are where its at, and this game is no exception! The future for Orion Wars is bright!
Fun game with short matches, love the voice acting in this one, you can tell that they had some fun with it! Good to have a layer or research that builds on the earlier flash games, look forward to see what comes next!
This game is alright. I thought the game had something related to Master of Orion but in a minimalist bare bone version. You choose what race to start off with, each with their racial characteristics. You have a homeworld to start from. Planets produce ships, defenses and research and can be adjusted via slider. Once ships are built, you can use them to invade and colonize other planets. Ship battle is automated.
a fun simple game with spaceships (:
+ many races with different stats which feelt refreshing to other in the genré - No exit match button - Only x1 speed or x2 speed, Should have had 0.5 to make it more cozy - No music ingame only in mainmenu for unknown reason - To few settings Favorite minimalist "Take planets games" rated in fun order. Galcon (200h in this) Dominari tournament (Very atmosferic) Blue Libra SPACECOM Space warfare Orion wars Galactic Dominion Microcosmum Planets under attack Biotix Other minimalistic action strategygames: Bad North (Fantastical tactical game) Fantasty map similator (Exctremly addictive) HELLFRONT: HONEYMOON King pins Risen kingdom Firmament wars e for them :)
Fun little game to spend time or to battle friends. Simple enough to pick up and go but deep enough to make it challenging. One of my favorite indie games of 2025.
If you love strategy games that blend tactical decision-making with the thrill of interstellar conquest, there’s a new gem you should check out. This space-based strategy title drops you into a dynamic galaxy where every planet is an opportunity—and every neighboring empire is a potential threat. Your mission is simple: expand your influence by taking over enemy planets. But the fun is in how you do it. You’ll build and command fleets of specialized ships, each designed for scouting, assault, defense, or rapid expansion. Sending your armadas from planet to planet feels incredibly satisfying, especially when you outmaneuver enemy forces or snatch up a key world before a rival fleet arrives. What makes this game shine is the balance between long-term planning and moment-to-moment tactics. Do you rush with lightweight ships to grab territory fast, or slowly build a powerhouse navy capable of steamrolling anything in its path? Every decision shapes the future of your interstellar empire. If you’re looking for a strategy game that’s easy to pick up but endlessly replayable, this one deserves a spot on your radar. Prepare your fleets, chart your course, and conquer the galaxy—one planet at a time.
