“A story about cat girls … with bite.” Nekos have evolved in the shadows of human society. Beautiful. Mysterious. Chaotic. And now, three of them live with you. Will you be able to get past the stigma and grow closer to them? OmOneko is a tale of cat and mouse... and rats.

I don't tend to write reviews. I just don't. But for something like this? It'd be absolutely unfair not to. OmOneko is an absolutely wonderful piece of work - one that I would happily pay $10 - 15 for. But the fact that it's free? It absolutely boggles my mind. The game wonderfully balances a mix between sweet, adorable fluff and heart-racing thriller moments ("What do you MEAN she's got an infection???" - Me, my first playthrough) and I very happily blew 10 hours of my weekend without even realizing it as I tore through my first playthrough. I cannot wait to see what else this story has waiting for me!!
I'm currently after Shimi and Clawdia Routes, and I usually don't write reviews. But as i saw only 39 positives i decided I must leave my as well. This game deserves wider recognition. Shimi indeed is magical :D Very alien, very unpredictable, but in very interesting and understendable way. And Clawdia is such a Sweetheart :D And you can't stay angry at Peper, she is just being herself, even if by being so annoys averyone around xd I highly recommend reading it :D

I got recommended to play(read?) this by a friend, and I haven't gone through that many VN's, but I just fell absolutely in love with everything about this one! It's very good; the characters have a lot of depth to them that one sees unfold as the story progresses. Along with that. the universe this takes place in feels pretty fleshed out too, and I look forward to seeing more of it in the future. Highly recommend this to everyone to give it a look-see!
A (niche?) masterpiece.
About the three routes: - Shimi: Wanted Clawdia but got into her route in the first attempt. Wild, mysterious, and
surprisingly passionate
. - Clawdia (my absolute favorite): Sweet, caring, reliable, … everything you could dream of from a childhood sweetheart + gentle older (at least she's "bigger") sister + newly married wife + … Cried so hard when we got physically AND spiritually intimate (TдT). Looking forward to the 2nd part of the game (which follows the true ending(?) with Mia forcing Clawdia and the main character into running). - Pepper: Appears a naughty, athletic child with sun-kissed skin, turns out a
satirical genius. Not very moved or "attacked" by her sarcasm though
.
Wanted Clawdia, but got Mrs. Shimi Short-Tail instead, and i'm glad i did. Wildcat <3
Honestly I was expecting this to be another generic run of the mill VN involving Catgirls. But im very happy to say that is one of the best reads ive had all year, there is so much care and effort put into this 5 year project and im glad i got to read it. Almost everything is handmade, from the lore to the art and story it all Oozes with love. im writing this before finishing it ( i still have 3-4 more endings to get) because i truly cannot fully express how much i enjoyed this. P.S the OST slaps
love this game. lots n' lots
Extremely well written - you can tell that these are the sort of characters that 'wrote themselves' once they were fully developed, and they bring the world alive. Much deeper than any other Neko game I've played. If you've played Katawa Shoujo, there is a similar level of depth here, but with the addition of a well-thought out and mysterious alternate earth. I recently saw someone express that it's strange that we consider aliens, and an alien way of thinking, to be the stuff of sci-fi when we share this planet with so many animals who think in 'alien' ways already. This game does an excellent job of portraying the alien-yet-familiar mind of a Neko. Readable, thoughtful, and fun. Highly recommend.
This is not a game about catgirls. It is a game about girl CATS. You have questions, so. Yes, you can sex with girl cats (offscreen). No, there are no H-scenes. No, there is no R18 patch. The visuals and literotica for the scenes are lovely and unique, with none of the usual tedious tropes; passionate and vibrant without clumsy explicit distractions. The girl cats are not humans, but they are written beautifully and treated respectfully as persons. The relationships with them are wholesome and contextually mildly taboo, but not fetishy or creepy. The soundtrack is chill and the illustrations are sublime, and the contrast with the understated backgrounds keeps the focus on the gorgeous characters and their stunning eyes. Each route is unique and emotionally tense. You will cry happy tears. There also is clever overlap where things revealed in one story lend new meaning to things said in others. Legitimately the most underexposed and underrated VN I have played. 10/10 would fall in love with girl cats again.
