felt uber smart because of this game
The base game is really good with 15 levels (all oil rigged themed) with the hard mode being very enjoyable. really like the online ARG of the post game and having to use the task bar to type in you commands, the way it ties in to all wakes in the deep and supporting a charity makes for great game.
Frickin awesome freebie. The three atari style minigames are fun enough, but twist at the end ties the experience together really nice. I'll have to check out the game this is a prelude to.

Pretty good atari experience with fun and short minigames
Good fun little game.
Atari 2600 forever!
Such a fun little game, the actual computer game elements with the chopper, derrickman and boat took me back to Atari 2600 era! Loved the part after that too where you're on the computer console, different experience but fun and cool to tackle too. :)
Insanely fun, free game to 100% Apparently a companion piece to a game by The Chinese Room but Oil Strike '75 is enjoyable on its own without prior knowledge of Still Wakes the Deep. What I DO recommend you bring to the table is enjoyment of puzzles since that's this game's defining genre, yes, this is even true for the minigames. Since OS75 throws you into the cold water without any instructions you're left to figure out what to do on your own which, thanks to the good game design, is fun instead of frustrating (provided you have played a video game before and know where to find arrow keys and spacebar on your keyboard). The console part cranks the puzzle aspect up to a hundred but if you're a (text based) puzzle fan this should be right up your alley. The achievements are where this game really shines imo. There's the usual cheevos you get for finishing the game the regular way, then there's some for finding secrets, beating the harder levels of the minigames and beating levels in a certain, different way. Some were challenging but not frustratingly hard. It took me a little under 2 hours to get all achievements, if you're really good you could probably get them in roughly an hour. In summary: More short games like this, please
Oil Strike '75 to, hm, dziwna bestia. Terminal ulega uszkodzeniu i zostaje przeniesiony do systemu telegazety o nazwie SeaFax. BBC, niech Bóg błogosławi Królową, niech spoczywa w pokoju, herbatka i kanapki z pudlami itd., wymyśliło Ceefax jako pierwszy system telegazety w latach 70. Ceefax kiedyś gościł wszelkiego rodzaju wiadomości i poświęcał sporo stron quizowi o nazwie Bamboozle!, który przypominał grę typu „wybierz własną przygodę”.
