Yep. This is the Ace Attorney fix you're looking for and more. Waiting for the next episode is suffering.
As of writing this, 'of the Devil' has three chapters total including the free prologue chapter. There's quite a difference in my opinion on the prologue by itself and all the current chapters taken together, so I will be splitting this review up into a description of both. Prologue: Solid start, but very short and has quite some things it's missing from the following chapters in terms of gameplay and stylization. It does its job as an introduction to the general setting and premise, and the few characters it introduces do a good job of pulling you in, especially Morgan herself. The basic gameplay is well-represented in here and the case, while short, does do a good bit with the little it works with. Chapter 1 is where I'd say players should get a good grasp on if the game's for them, though. Prologue + Episode 1 & 2: Very stylish, fun and well-written game so far. The card game theming works like a charm and fits the character of Morgan extremely well. While the game is very linear in terms of progression (there's absolutely no player-lednavigation between areas), it eliminates points of frustration in terms of figuring out what do, which in my opinion is very much a good thing. The game very much focuses on the writing (which, yeah, is what a detective-like SHOULD do) and in that aspect it very much succeeds with flying colors. of the Devil is shaping up to be quite a game, and I hope development goes smooth enough for the end product to be on the horizon soon enough.

this game is a great visual novel. it has it all: good art style, good story, fun spin on the ace attorney type gameplay. i don't normally like saying "if you're a fan of X you'll like this", but if you're a fan of ace attorney i would give this game a try. if you're not a fan of ace attorney, i would give this game a try.
This is my favorite courtroom game now, INCREDIBLY stylish presentation, engaging investigations and the trials themselves are also awesome even if I didn't love gambling. Delaying TES6 further to play Episode 3 when it releases, we WILL be there.
