"Oedoshigusa" is another low key asset flip. This is just a collection of mismatched (probably store-bought or free stock) assets thrown together to form a basic, shallow experience... more designed for the sake of an amateur developer being able to call themselves a "game developer" thanks to Steam Direct and stock assets than a product designed for gamers. For that reason it's obviously not going to provide a decent gaming experience. This is a godawful 15 minute long stealth adventure game kitbashed out of a bunch of plagiarized Unity Asset Store assets. The topic: take on the role of the developers imaginary girlfriend, who is a ninja. I mean, if you are going to have an imaginary girlfriend, you might as well make up a cool one. Anyway, stealth a bit through some Japanese themed Unity assets and then quickly uninstall because this is garbage. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, we quickly find they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Oedoshigusa". The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product. This feels like a tech demo more than a full game. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, the "free" price tag didn't help. This peaked at a handful of players and then immediately cratered. With a peak count of less than 50 gamers (out of over 130 million gamers and over 40 million daily logons), it’s safe to say the PC gaming community has collectively decided to ignore this, probably because of the reasons supplied in this review. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Definitely not. This isn't worth it. I'm paraphrasing another reviewer here, but this should be a paid product... they'd have to pay people to download it.
