Not a fan of these hide and seek horror games, idk how it got into my library, but now I have started playing it, I need to complete this bullsh!t with 100% achievements in order to not mess up my avg game completion rate UPD: Ok, after few hours of playing, I've unlocked 16/20 achievements, there is not a single guide for unlocking all of them which is annoying. Coming to a game itself, it is bugged, not optimized. Sometimes you get stuck in textures. You can't use your lantern after you die and respawn from checkpoint, even tho it says you have a lantern in your journal. But I've heard that its developed by high school students. I kinda respect it. I would have changed my review to positive, if there were some achievement guides
"Nystagmus" is a basic asset flipped first person horror adventure game, one of literally thousands of first person horror adventure game asset flips infesting Steam. And, just like Nystagmus, these asset flipped first person horror adventure games have little to no value as games, especially when compared to honestly and professionally developed products. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This wasn't even free... they were seriously trying to get YOUR money for someone else's game assets. This is never okay. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
fun game for all ages would recommend
