This Game was GOOD 10/10 Will play it again
Nope Nope Nurses Melee is a chaotic anime-style fighting game spin-off that takes the bizarre energy of the Nope Nope Nurses universe and transforms it into a fast-paced arcade brawler filled with exaggerated comedy, over-the-top fan service, and intentionally ridiculous action. Rather than attempting to become a deeply technical competitive fighter, the game focuses almost entirely on chaotic entertainment, absurd character interactions, and colorful arcade-style combat. The result is a strange but energetic indie fighting game that feels heavily inspired by older doujin fighters and parody anime culture. The game shifts away from the more visual-novel-focused style of the main Nope Nope Nurses titles and instead places its cast into exaggerated melee battles driven by humor and pure chaos. From the very beginning, the game embraces an intentionally unserious tone where ridiculous scenarios and over-the-top character personalities matter far more than realism or balanced competitive gameplay. Every fight feels designed around spectacle, exaggerated reactions, and playful absurdity rather than strategic precision. One of the first things players will notice is the game’s retro-inspired combat style. The fighting mechanics feel heavily influenced by older arcade and doujin fighting games, featuring straightforward controls, flashy attacks, and relatively simple gameplay systems. The controls are easy to understand, making the game approachable even for players who are not deeply experienced with fighting games. Special attacks and movement options are intentionally accessible, allowing players to jump into chaotic battles quickly without memorizing highly complicated mechanics. The combat itself prioritizes speed and exaggerated action over technical depth. Matches are filled with colorful attacks, overdramatic animations, and chaotic exchanges that maintain a consistently energetic pace. While the mechanics may not offer the complexity or precision of larger fighting game franchises, the simplicity works in the game’s favor by reinforcing its arcade-style identity. The game clearly wants players to focus on fun and absurdity rather than serious competition. Character design plays a major role in establishing the game’s identity. The roster embraces exaggerated anime archetypes, eccentric personalities, and intentionally absurd humor. Much of the entertainment comes from watching the bizarre interactions between characters during both story sequences and combat encounters. The game constantly leans into over-the-top anime comedy, fan-service-heavy presentation, and chaotic visual humor in ways that feel intentionally exaggerated and self-aware. Visually, Nope Nope Nurses Melee adopts a colorful anime-inspired art style filled with expressive character portraits, flashy combat effects, and exaggerated animations. The game clearly operates within the limitations of a smaller indie budget and an older engine, which results in some stiffness in movement and animation. However, the energetic presentation and commitment to visual absurdity help give the game personality despite its technical limitations. The bright effects and fast-paced action make battles visually entertaining even when the underlying systems remain fairly simple. The soundtrack and audio design complement the chaotic atmosphere well. Fast-paced music tracks and exaggerated sound effects keep the energy consistently high during fights, helping reinforce the arcade-style pacing. Explosive audio cues, dramatic attack sounds, and playful music choices all contribute to the feeling that the game exists purely for over-the-top entertainment rather than realism. One of the more interesting aspects of Nope Nope Nurses Melee is how openly it embraces its own absurdity. The game never attempts to present itself as a polished esports fighter or a mechanically deep competitive experience. Instead, it fully commits to the idea of being a bizarre anime parody filled with ridiculous humor and exaggerated fan service. That self-awareness gives the game a strange charm because it clearly understands exactly what kind of experience it wants to provide. The story mode and visual novel elements also help give the game additional personality beyond the fighting itself. Character interactions and narrative sequences reinforce the strange comedic tone of the franchise while offering fans extra context and absurd scenarios involving the cast. These story moments help the game feel more connected to the broader Nope Nope Nurses universe rather than existing as a completely separate fighting spin-off. However, the game’s low-budget nature becomes very noticeable over time. Animations can feel stiff, movement occasionally lacks fluidity, and combat systems lack the depth found in stronger anime fighting games. The older engine also contributes to occasional awkwardness in movement and hit detection, making the gameplay feel rough around the edges compared to more polished titles in the genre. Replay value is also somewhat limited for players who are not specifically invested in the humor, characters, or franchise itself. While the chaotic battles remain amusing for short sessions, the relatively shallow mechanics and limited progression systems make it difficult for the gameplay alone to sustain long-term interest. Much of the appeal depends entirely on whether players enjoy the bizarre anime comedy and intentionally ridiculous presentation. The humor itself will also be highly divisive. The game heavily relies on exaggerated anime tropes, absurd fan service, awkward comedy, and intentionally chaotic interactions that clearly target a very specific niche audience. Players unfamiliar with this style of parody-heavy Japanese indie humor may find the experience repetitive or strange, while fans of eccentric anime-inspired games will likely appreciate the complete lack of restraint. What ultimately makes Nope Nope Nurses Melee memorable is its willingness to fully embrace absurdity without apology. The game feels intentionally chaotic, exaggerated, and unserious in ways that help it stand out from more generic low-budget fighting games. Even when the mechanics feel rough or simplistic, the game’s bizarre personality and nonstop energy keep it entertaining. For players who enjoy niche anime fighters, parody-driven indie games, and chaotic arcade action filled with absurd humor, Nope Nope Nurses Melee delivers a strange but amusing experience. Its technical limitations and shallow combat systems prevent it from becoming a truly standout fighting game, but its unapologetic commitment to ridiculousness gives it enough charm to remain memorable within its niche. Rating: 7/10
hot nurses? yep game works? yep is it a bit janky? yep, but this is a really old game engine overall, if you like sakusei byoutou i recommend this. it's a pretty funny side story. someone gets mad at tachibana, she gets mad back, and then they fight. that's pretty much all there is to it. it has some hilarious story though if you also really liked this story. It has an important message about late stage capitalism and corrupt healthcare practices. The characters all have their own personalities and lovable sides. one of the best eroge series of the 2020s so far imo.
Pretty good game, fun little game to play. Im confused what gallery.zip is and I want to know what it is if anyone could tell me.
Kurokawa my beloved queen TRAQUINAGENS CRLS!!!
