The rules are simple. Reach the other side and kill anyone that stands in your way. Deftly parry and rend their throats, riddle their bowels with arrows, or squish their brains between your toes. The wurm cares not for chivalry.

A crowd pleaser that even casual video game fans can pick up. The art style is apparently divisive, but I like it -- it's very colorful and detailed and looks like some mix of 90's gross out cartoons and the Muppets. Banger soundtrack, too.
A very cool concept executed exceptionally well. Nidhogg 2 feels like a mash-up of the playground game *Red Rover* and the original *Mortal Kombat* trilogy (oh yes, i'm old enough to be familiar with both sets of experiences). The objective has the frantic tug-of-war energy of the former, while the latter is reflected in its fast-paced combat, chunky sprite work, and satisfyingly responsive controls. I mean both comparisons as high praise. My biggest criticism is that the solo campaign can be brutally difficult, and there's no way to save your progress. You're expected to finish an entire run in one sitting or start over from the beginning—a true arcade philosophy. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or skill to see a full run through, though making it halfway was challenging in the best kind of way. Despite that, I had a great time. The mechanics are simple to learn but surprisingly deep, and the controls are tight enough that every victory feels earned. If you enjoy strange, demanding games that reward perseverance, Nidhogg 2 is well worth your time.
very fun
Jolly good.
My wife and I get very competitive with this game. We first played an arcade case of it and instantly bought it on steam.
Fun! wish I played this game when it was popular & had more friends too play with
ew
perfect for destroying friendships and relationships
