A psychological home-invasion horror set in the bleak year of 1992, focusing on tension, atmosphere, and an immersive soundtrack. The story involves elements of a cult, rituals meant to reach the dead, and the haunting presence of those who should have remained in the past.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You play as a young woman who has moved to a big city and found a surprisingly cheap apartment in one of the blocks on a housing estate. Although it’s quite far from your university and workplace, it offers excellent transport connections. However, the apartment has a story of its own - one you uncover through objects left behind and from local residents, whom you don’t always feel like interacting with but often can’t avoid.
Before long, you realize you’re not always alone in the apartment. Someone knows how to enter your home; perhaps someone who lived there before you.
New Face on the Block is a first-person horror walking simulator. Players will explore various locations, interact with the neighborhood’s residents, and uncover a compelling story that took place some time ago. The gameplay focuses on exploration, finding hidden items, and interacting with them to piece together the narrative. To progress, players will complete simple tasks that are integrated into the story.
The game emphasizes atmosphere, building tension and creating a sense of fear. While the game creates a tense atmosphere with immersive audio and occasional jump scares, it is primarily a psychological horror experience. It focuses on building suspense and anticipation rather than relying heavily on sudden scares.
The game is designed to be completed in approximately 1 hour.

Oyunun hikayesi iyi kurgulanmış ve gerilimi baya hissettiriyor. Ses efektleri iyi oturmuş sürekli diken üstünde tutuyor seni. Ucuz jumpscare yok bu yönünü sevdim. Kısa korku filmi tadında ilerliyor. Optimizasyon ve oynanış iyi. Tavsiye ediyorum oynanır.
A psychological horror game featuring a woman who has just moved into a cheap apartment. It was pretty good. The playtime is around 1 to 1.5 hours, so I highly recommend it to fans of short horror games.

I feel like the devs games have been getting worse and not better as each new game comes out. The first game I gave a 2,5/5 rating, 2nd game I gave a 3/5 rating. This 3rd game is certainly not better then a 2/5 star indie game rating. It was the least enjoyable game yet from the dev.
мне не понравилось, игра гамно. мой твич https://www.twitch.tv/gazy2lazy
Pretty good indie horror - story kind of felt random but it came together.
erstaunlich gut!
Developed and published by Yellow Basement Games, New Face On The Block is a first-person psychological horror game that places players in the shoes of a young woman beginning a new chapter of her life after relocating to a city in 1992. Hoping to build a better future, she rents an inexpensive apartment in a run-down housing complex with convenient access to public transportation. The seemingly fortunate opportunity quickly proves to be anything but ordinary as unsettling discoveries inside the apartment and increasingly suspicious behavior from those around her begin to reveal that the building carries a dark and disturbing history. The premise immediately establishes a sense of unease, turning an everyday situation into a compelling mystery that gradually unfolds through exploration and observation. Rather than focusing on action or survival mechanics, the game embraces a slow-paced narrative experience centered on environmental storytelling. Players spend most of their time searching the apartment, examining objects left behind, interacting with residents, and piecing together fragments of the building's troubled past. Every item and conversation contributes to the growing tension, rewarding careful attention instead of fast reflexes. The straightforward progression keeps the experience accessible while allowing the story to remain the primary attraction. Although the overall adventure is relatively short, its compact length helps maintain suspense without introducing unnecessary filler or repetitive objectives. The horror succeeds because it relies more on psychological discomfort than on constant shocks. The apartment gradually evolves into a place where even the smallest details become unsettling, and the lingering possibility that someone can enter without permission creates a persistent feeling of vulnerability. The game uses silence, ambient sounds, and carefully timed audio cues to build anticipation, ensuring that players remain on edge even during moments when nothing overtly frightening occurs. Jump scares are included but are used sparingly, serving as punctuation to the suspense instead of replacing it. This restrained approach allows the atmosphere to remain consistently oppressive from beginning to end. Visually, New Face On The Block captures the bleak character of an aging apartment complex with convincing environmental detail. The realistic first-person perspective helps players feel connected to the protagonist's growing anxiety as familiar living spaces slowly become sources of fear. The subdued presentation complements the psychological themes, while the mature content involving violence, disturbing imagery, and emotional distress reinforces the grim tone of the narrative. The game's sound design deserves particular praise, as subtle noises and environmental effects frequently become just as intimidating as anything players actually see, strengthening the sense of isolation throughout the experience. Its greatest limitation is the lack of gameplay variety. Those looking for elaborate puzzles, combat systems, or branching mechanics may find the experience too linear and mechanically simple. Replay value is also limited since much of the appeal comes from uncovering the mystery for the first time. However, players who appreciate story-driven horror games and atmospheric walking simulators will likely find that the focused design allows the narrative and tension to remain effective without becoming overcomplicated. New Face On The Block delivers a memorable psychological horror experience by transforming an ordinary apartment into the center of an unsettling mystery filled with paranoia and dread. Its engaging narrative, effective environmental storytelling, immersive audio design, and carefully paced suspense demonstrate that horror does not need constant action to leave a lasting impression. While its brief runtime and minimalist gameplay may not satisfy every player, the game succeeds in providing a tense and immersive journey that horror fans can appreciate. Rating: 7/10
